My alarm clock on my phone went off signaling that it was 8:20. I groaned quickly turned it off and rolled out of bed.

I stretched as I walked to my window letting the sun brighten up my room. "Fuck" I cursed immediately shielding my eyes from the sudden brightness that I instantly regretted letting in.

"NOVA WAKE THAT ASS UP!" Kingsley yelled banging on my door like the police

"BITCH STOP BANGING ON MY SHIT LIKE THAT" I yelled back now irritated before it even turned 10 am. Kingsley came into my room looking at me with a grin that belonged in a cartoon.

"You better have a good reason to be raising my blood pressure this early in the morning" I open my closet door scanning the potential outfits for the first day of our new school.

"You want pancakes or waffles?" He asked checking himself out in my mirror.

"Both now get out"

"Okayy damn"

I heard my door shut and felt relief knowing his ass is downstairs and not bothering me anymore. The vibes for today were going to be something simple...well simple for me. Every time I say I'm going to wear something simple Deandre always tries to tell me otherwise.

My personal hater for real.

I decided to smell like vanilla today since that's my scent for the month, I put on lotion and layered different scents of vanilla until I smelt like a bakery then got dressed.

It was my turn to check myself out in the mirror, I had to make sure everything looked perfect. It's hard being a baddie.

I was satisfied with my outfit so it was time to move on to my hair and face. I put my hair in a low bun, did my baby hairs then moisturized my face and added a few touches of blush.

"Ehhh fuck it Imma put lashes on," I say to myself whilst putting the glue on the lash then waiting for it to get tacky. Within a minute later my eyes looked less bald and my morning "routine" was done.

Picking up my black jansport backpack and phone I finally left my room. As I slid down the railing to my new home I met up with the others in the kitchen.

"Took you long enough," Hakeem said with a mouth full of food. I looked at him disgusted and said, "I hope you choke"

"Rude" He rolled his eyes

"Your plate is in the microwave, Nov" Deandre said cleaning up the kitchen. I thanked him as I got my plate and sat down on one of the bar stool chairs next to Leon.

"Aye, you gonna eat your eggs?" The boy next to me asked before I could even cut my waffle. Slowly I turned my head to him and stared until finally scrapping off the eggs from my plate onto his.

"Good looks" He nodded adding hot sauce to the eggs. I rolled my eyes as a response before actually being able to eat my food.

Fat fuck.

"Aye, Come hit this blunt before we leave," Kingsley said sparking up the blunt

Bruh I barely even had breakfast..

Archie and I walked to the rec room to meet with Ronnie and Jughead. I couldn't help but notice the whispers around school involving the new students.

"Hey," I smiled sitting next to Jughead on the couch. "Have you guys heard?" Kevin looked at all of us with wide eyes

"No? What?" Veronica asked crossing her leg over the other leg to make more room for Archie. "We have new students!" He yelled slightly excited.

Before any of us could respond, the school doors opened with a large BANG as five kids walked in. All of us rushed up from our seats to the hallway to take a glance at the new kids, I couldn't help but notice that most of them were boys but one girl was in the front.

"Damn," The girl said looking at one of the boys who had accidentally caused the loud noise with the doors, "way to make an entrance"

She was shorter than me but still looked intimidating. Her piercings complimented her look and tattoos, though not really my style.

"They are definitely new to Riverdale" I whispered slightly.

The new kids looked around at everyone staring at them. She didn't really seem thrilled to be here...or friendly as she just gave everyone a blank look.

None of them looked friendly besides a boy with blonde hair who was waving at everyone.
"Guys we should give them a friendly hello," Archie said grabbing Ronnie's hand with the rest of us to follow.

Pushing past the kids in the hall who had started to crowd around them, we met in the middle of the hall with warm smiles.

Now that we were in front of them, I noticed that all of them had tattoos but one matching one that seemed to be a pattern of some sort.

"Welcome to Riverdale High!" I said with as much school spirit as I could.

Oddly the boys looked at the girl to say something before they said anything on their own. She didn't look too interested in talking to me but eventually gave me a small smile as she held out her hand for me to shake it.

"Thanks. I'm Nova, nice to meet you"

"I'm betty, nice to meet you Nova" My smile got wider feeling like I made a breakthrough, "This is Jughead, Kevin, Archie, and Veronica"

"Like the outfit" Jughead complemented Nova's clothes.

Nova studied Jughead like she did with me, "Thank you, I fuck with the jacket. Is that real leather?" she asked.

Jug nodded his head, "yeah"

"Cool" She nodded in approval

The sound of her comment made Jug smile slightly then walk off to the other serpents.

The boys had introduced themselves individually before the bell rang. Slowly the crowd became smaller as people started to head to their classes leaving us in the middle of the hallway.

"Well that's the bell...hopefully we see you guys around," I said giving one last smile

"For sure" Nova smiled and we left our separate ways.

"Those kids look like no joke" Archie finally spoke up

"Yeah. Probably from the Hood" Ronnie agreed holding Archie's hand

"You can't just say people from the HOOD because of how they look, Ronnie" I hit her arm

"It's possible... But they're nothing like the South side serpents" Kevin shudders, I nod my head slightly and go to my first-period class which was English.
