eunsan;
minhyun had told changbin and jeongin to leave and hyunjin to get back to his room which led me to be alone with him.
his room was larger and more detailed than hyunjin's, it was more comfortable in a way.
"sit wherever you'd like, i don't want you to be uncomfortable nor nervous around me." i made my way over to some type of chair i would find in my grandparents house while he made some herbal tea.
i gulped, "why are you being kind to me?" i asked quietly, "first your brother and now you.. i don't even know you," he turned around and smiled fondly at me, "there's something about you that i can't point out," he turned back to the tea making, "your aura is so.. angelic. it makes me want to protect you," he sighed, "but i can't. i can't protect you because i have things to do that will determine my future that you might not understand, sweet girl."
his way with words was formed in such an artistic way that i wouldn't ever experience back home. it was beautiful.
"what things?" i asked curiously. i have always been naive, always wanted to know others plans, "i have to get revenge on the choi family," he started to pour up some tea into two dark glasses, "they didn't treat my mother right," i waited for a second before asking further, "what did they do?" he laughed, "you're a curious little girl, aren't you?" he placed one of the glasses in front of me and sat on the opposite side, "my mother was a choi before she married the emperor, my father. her mother, my grandmother, died suddenly and my grandfather didn't answer my mother when she asked why and how she passed away. he completely shut her out of his life and traveled back to his kingdom, because for some reason he traveled here and married my grandmother," he sighed, probably out of frustration, "long story short, my grandfather who is a choi no longer has my respect and since i bet that he was the one who killed my grandmother and my mother, i need to take revenge on the choi family."
i took a sip of the steaming tea and sat quietly, taking the new information in.
"so your mother married into royalty?" he nodded, "yeah. since her father shut her out, she didn't have anywhere to stay. she walked around the markets until someone told one of the guards to come get her. my father had to meet her, whether he liked it or not, and surprisingly he fell in love. she passed away when i was eleven and my father found someone else. just like how my grandfather did." he got quiet for a while and drank his tea in peace.
a few moments passed, "how did your mom die?" i suddenly asked. even i was shocked at how i dared to ask such a question. he smiled slightly and looked up at me with watery eyes, "i don't know," he said emptily aaand there my little heart broke, "probably the same way my grandmother died. it's painful not knowing." i got quiet, not wanting to seem rude by taking things further.
