Pixelate 4: Shining Star

Chapter 2: Requests

Caleb emerges from the elevator.

Walker: "(in head) Caleb will collapse if he learns about this!"

Caleb sits down on a couch within the room.

Walker: "How was school?"

Caleb hugs Echoes.

Caleb: "School."

Walker looks to his left to find several hundred messages all with request as the subject.

Walker: "(sighing) I just set up the sixth server in Africa, finished the balancing issues, completed the Ranger class, and now Players of both Pixel Reality and Tomorrow's Knights are begging for a recombination."

Caleb: "(shyly) Recombination?"

Walker: "Shining Star and the Knights of Hope are the best guilds for their respective games. Players want to see who would win."

Caleb: "Oh..."

Walker looks out a nearby window.

Walker: "(in head) But Aegis and Austin are still out there. It would be risky."

Caleb: "(shyly) It took weeks to separate right?"

Walker: "And personally I don't want to go through that right now."

The elevator dings as nine different kids step through.

Walker: "Well looks like the Knights of Hope, Zack, Serena, Tori, Cole, Edo, Asaka, Emily, and Roy."

Walker notices a ninth kid, a freshman girl with light brown hair and eyes.

Zack: "Figured we'd want you to meet our new member."

The girl looks around the room for a moment.

Yukiko: "I-I'm Yukiko Fudo. P-Pleasure to meet you Maximilian Walker."

Cole: "She's bilingual. Her father's is Japanese while her mom is American."

Walker: "Well all six servers are all up and running here."

Asaka: "Well that server surfing mechanic is functioning again right?"

Walker: "Well all six servers are stationed in different continents. The new Theta server is in Africa, Alpha is Europe, Beta is South America, Delta is here in North America, Gamma is Australia, and Omega is Asia. So I did decide to fix it and it's back."

Edo: "That's an out of the blue explanation."

Walker: "Just figured I'd explain what server is where."

Roy: "Is Shining Star here?"

Walker: "They logged in an hour ago."

Tori: "Well we just wanted to say hi."

Yukiko: "I'm going in today right?"

Serena: "You're going to be the new Monk class right?"

Yukiko: "Y-Yeah."

The Knights of Hope head down.

Walker: "Well you should head home Caleb. I'm going to be typing for a while."

Caleb: "O-Okay."

Caleb heads down the elevator.

Caleb: "(mumbling) Should I do it Echoes?"

Caleb slowly walks home as the sun begins to set.
