Chapter 10: Hope

The next morning...

Caleb: "(rubbing eyes) N-Never again..."

Caleb puts on his clothes as he continues to have a flashback.

Several years ago...

Aegis: "(losing sanity, laughing) I can't take it!"

Aegis is beating on four year old Caleb.

Aegis: "(laughing) People don't change! All they do is grab the latest facade and stab you in the back with truth when you accept them!"

Caleb is bruised and bloody.

Caleb: "(crying) Mommy!"

Aegis picks Caleb up by the throat.

Aegis: "(insane) Mommy isn't here anymore you little shit."

Back to present...

Walker: "Are you okay?!"

Caleb is sweating and breathing heavily on the floor.

Caleb: "(panicking) Never again!"

Caleb manages to pull himself together.

Walker: "(relieved) Good to know that Shining Hope is there for you."

Caleb: "(calming down) The others..."

Caleb looks at his ID Glove sitting next to Echoes.

Caleb: "After school... we're going to see the Hope server."

Walker: "Just... be careful."

Several hours later...

Micheal: "I'm just glad that you're okay!"

Shining Star had just gotten a message from Walker about Caleb's panic attack.

William: "Think you can handle a trip?"

Caleb clenches his fist.

Caleb: "I... I can!"

Kyle: "Just don't push it."

They all step into a Login and log in.

Inside Pixel Reality...

Robert: "The Knights are waiting for us on the Hope server."

Anthony: "(confused) Any idea how to get there?"

Isabel looks at some patch notes.

Isabel: "Looks like we need to get back to Alpha and in town there should be a large mirror that we can use to swap over."

They begin to head towards the shore.

Risa: "Sounds pretty anime to me!"

They soon arrive at the shore.

Micheal: "Next stop, Alpha!"

Everyone jumps onto their boards.

Andrea: "(in head) I'm still worried about Caleb. He just had a panic attack."

They zoom forward.

Meanwhile...

Austin: "(blankly) My prison."

Aegis and Austin are floating above a small village at night.

Aegis: "(blankly) Code L.A. is nowhere near completion."

Austin/ Aegis: "(blankly) We lack vital codes on both sides. We must delete bosses to obtain code."

They zoom off when the Knights exit a shop.
