Haseenah's POV

I couldn't bear a moment longer with him, throughout the journey home nobody said anything I don't even know what I was thinking, I had hoped things would be better now but when he refused to answer my greetings I know I made the mistake of expecting too much.... As soon as we arrived home I didn't waste a second more before speeding into the house, I met mamii in the living which was extra ordinarily neat and cool with the heavenly scent of incense stick and air freshener.
"Har kun iso haseenah, Ina Aslam din" mamii asked standing up

"Yana bayana yanzun zai karaso"I answered trying to pass her to the stairs

"Ohk"she replied just as we heard his voice. "Assalamu alaikum" "Wa alaikum salam" we answered in unison

I was still trying to run away but I know mamii would suspect something and ya Aslam will think he still has impact on me, I decided to stay,mamii was busy hugging him and asking how his journey was he kept answering with a permanent smile on his ,if u ever want to see him smiling then it should be either with his parents or his best friend Habib aside from them then don't expect anything but glares or frowns..

The house helps started coming to greet him one by one each holding a tray. It was then mamii asked if he was going to freshen up or eat first, being the mummy's boy he was he replied " Haba mum after all the stress you went through to prepare this dishes, I'll have to eat first then freshen, pray then rest"
"Toh Aslam, Allah yayi maka albarka she said.
"Amin"he replied smiling
"Haseenah come and serve your brother" mamii said trying to leave the parlour.
My heart was beating three-three I stood walking like a fowl,I stopped in front of him stooping to start serving I asked him what he would like to have 'cous cous',he muttered without looking at me he started pressing his phone.I served him his food and even poured coconut drink in a tumbler before packing my belongings and exiting the living room.

Aslam's POV

When I entered the living room, I saw her with mamii it was obvious she was trying to leave but then she stayed even though I couldn't think of her reason..

I really missed my mother she was busy hugging me being her only child and I've been away for 4years, mamii Hajiya salma is from Maiduguri while Abba is from Katsina, Abba is very popular here in Abuja almost everybody knows Alhaji Ismail Abdullah dogon kudi being a business man with many plazas,filling stations,motor parks and other companies,he has being married to his wife salma for 2years before Allah blessed him with Aslam, after him they had tried to have another child but it seems dis is the only one Allah wishes to give them, so when his younger brother and wife died in an accident they decided to take his daughter to live with them.

I asked mamii how Abba was and everybody she told me he was expected tomorrow insha Allah from kano where he went to attend his friend's daughter's nikkah, Haseenah was still sitting there looking at us without uttering any word, I couldn't take my eyes off her 'Masha Allah' I kept saying in my heart

Mamii asked her to serve me,I know she's scared maybe because of what I did earlier today, I still keep acting like a jerk towards whereas I know I have fallen deep, she squatted in front of me and asked me what I want to eat to which I replied cous cous,

I started pressing my phone to distract me from her but my attention was still drawn to her,like earlier as soon as she finished serving me she gathered her belongings and her left me with her scent.

I decided to call Habib he knows I'm coming back today but he hasn't called at all,it rung twice before he picked up, from his voice I could sense something so I asked
"Hey bro watsup, you know I was coming into the country today but u didn't bother to call to check up on me."

"Wallah I'm very sorry bro, Aisha ce yau ta tashi very sick and she doesn't want to go to the hospital" he answered with hint of fatigue in his voice.

"Ayyah I'm very sorry,may Allah grant her shifaa" I offered.

"Amin" he replied.

He talked about a few things and told him to try and convince and I wished her quick recovery and hung up.
