I wonder if love was a person would I recognize them? Would I know them by name or by soul? Would we be such good friends that when we saw each other we'd have a mini reunion right there in a parking lot, grocery store, etc?
Or if I didn't know love would I take the time to get to know them? Would I sit down in a coffee shop and talk for hours over pastries and cappuccinos?
With so many possibilities I didn't realize that love already knew me. That love was waiting for me, calling for me. Telling me to wake up and fall. Fall hard for what I love. To fall hard in love.
It wasn't until I started falling that I realized what I was falling for.

"Christine will you pass me the milk," my mom asked.
I slid the carton across the island table. She gave me a small thank you and I barely looked up at her.
She and I have never been close with each other. She always favored my 19 year old brother more than me because she said he had potential to become a billionaire which he did. He was really smart but he acted like a complete dumb-ass and threw his life away with drugs and girls. He should've graduated last year but that didn't happen.
I checked the time on my phone that sat next to my cereal.
"Oh God we're gonna be late!" I said. I grabbed my bag off of my chair and kissed the handsome man's cheek who sat at the table. "Love you daddy!"
"Love you too honey," my dad said looking up from his book. My dad doesn't read the newspaper like normal dads do in the mornings. He reads 500-1,000 page books. He's an author so it's kind of his thing.
"Trevor we're gonna be late!" I yelled up the stairs. When I got no response I ran up the stairs and down the hall to his room. When I opened the door, all I saw was a mess.
There were piles of clothes, most likely dirty, everywhere, a few empty pizza boxes, and some broken plates, paper and ceramic. I also saw a stain I did not want to decipher.
Trevor was in the middle if it all nestled in his covers sleeping peacefully with his headphones on.
I wove through the piles of junk and up to Trevor's bed. I ripped off his headphones and pulled back his covers. He sat up quickly saying, "What the hell!"
His brown hair was a complete mess and he was only in underwear. Most girls would call him hot but I call him desperate.
"You need to get up or you're gonna be late. You know mom would not be happy to find out that her fail of a son was skipping again. Now I'm not gonna sit here and wait for you to get ready so you can drive yourself!" I turned to walk away but stopped and turned around. "Oh and one more thing."
I walked back over to him and punched him in the gut. It didn't do as much damage as I wished but it was good enough.
"What the fuck was that for," he said clutching his stomach.
"I know you went through my period diary app yesterday to see if I was pregnant. You make me sick," I said turning and walking out.
"Well that guy was here a few weeks ago and I just wanted to make sure," he exclaimed behind me. I just rolled my eyes and walked downstairs.
"Hey daddy, I need to take your truck to school," I said walking in the kitchen. "Trevor never got up this morning and I don't want to be late."
I snuck a glance at my mom as I said that last sentence. I wasn't sure but I thought I saw a bit of disappointment.
