Chapter 20

~Same Day~ 

“It’s time son" ... Yes dad

Go get Vala  

 Two men stand at the door and the bars that separate the rooms begin to open. I want to make run for it, but I know that I will never make it. Right here, Right now I am staring at my death. As soon as the bars are open enough the men stand in front of the opening figuring that I would make the run. Both of the men have face masks on them, the taller guy says come here. I froze right there in my spot and said a small prayer. With all the courage I have left I stepped forward. The tall guy grabs me and drags me into the other room. I want to scream for help, but I know that nobody wills her me. The tall guy tells the other guy to get some hot water.  The guy did as he was told; he poured it into a big tub. The tall guy points to a screen and a cart with bottles on it, and then he told the guy to wheel it over. As he did he looked at me and told me to go behind the screen and undress the bath myself. He let go of me and gave me a little shove. I did as I was told I went behind the screen, and I undressed. I got into the tub and I sat in the hot water. I am happy that there was the screen, so they would not see me. The hot water feels so good on my skin. After a few minutes I hear a male’s voice, saying wash yourself. I did so; it felt so good to be so clean. One of them throws new clothes that still have tags on them, over the screen. I signaled that it was the time to get out. This was a moment that I will cherish till I get a new life. I dried myself and put the new clothes. I stood there wondering what going to happen next. Then the guy spoke again, he told me to come here. I did what I was told; I realized that if I wanted to live I had to do what I was told. I slowly walked forward and I stood right in front of the two men. I notice that the younger man was Javen. He finally spoke to me saying “Hello Vala," he knows that is not my name, but I did not make a comment. The older one instructed me to sit at a table and I did. He placed a plate of mashed potatoes and chicken in front of me. Then he pointed at it and said eat. Then he left the room with Javen. I looked at it for a couple of minutes and then I decided that I was going to eat it. The food was not hot but it was good. This is the best meal... actually my only meal a long time.  After I finished I drank some water, I sat at the table and waited for a long while. Then the door open and only the one man came in. He looked at me and said "you will live, if you abide by me." With that he instructed me to go back into the other room. He shut the door and left me sitting in the other room. I felt extremely tired and that’s when it hit me I might never awake again if I fall asleep. I prayed that this is the end of my life; I will be content with my last day. I shut my eyes and I fell asleep.
