Waking up to the crashing of waves on the ships hull, Uriah's mother stammers to her feet, Her head throbbing from what must have been a blow to the head, Urahs mother attempts to get the bearings of her situation. Confusion clouds her mind as she looks around the relatively charming cabin that she awoke inside. Far from what she expected, the cabin was elegant and refined. Detailed carvings were mounted above the doors and window seals; the floor was covered in a decorative carpet woven with subtle blue and scarlet threads interwoven into intricate patterns of what looked like fire and water.
She stands up from the bed she had been placed on and walked to the back of the cabin where a desk sat in front of large glass windows that looked out over the ocean. Hearing voices and thinking quickly, she looks around sees a cast iron torch. Using all her strength, she brakes it from its ornate mount and hides behind the door waiting to strike.
"Be careful sire; this one has the fire in her veins. She is not to be underestimated.. "The familiar slimy voice of the dark elf calls out from the distance as the door starts to open. her grip tightens around the torch as she prepares to swing.
The door opens, and a man walks in, his hair was shoulder length and black, wearing a white trench coat that trimmed with red silk. His boots black and shiny from being cleaned recently. At his side, he swings a gold incrusted saber made of an almost pearl looking metal. "I wouldn't swing that if I were you miss."The man says as he turns to face her. " What is your name miss?" He asks politely looking at her with his yellow serpent-like eyes.
In the surprise, she lowers the torch" What is your reasoning behind this pirate? What do you want from me?" She growls at him.
"Uthin was right about you; you do have some spunk. How rude of me, Welcome aboard the Perpetrator, miss. My name is captain Ryark. Now if you don't mind putting that torch back on the wall, it was quite expensive. It was handcrafted after all." He smiles at her but it was no natural smile, his teeth were sharp and jagged like daggers and his tongue thin and forked at its end. She recoils at the sight. " Now what were your name again? "He asks in a slightly more forceful tone.
Uriah's mother worried to show fear stands tall and brave, she had not seen a man with traits of that kind nor heard the tail of any such creature, but she knew when to submit just as much as when to fight." Eva Farsome." She faces him down.
"Eva eh, a beautiful name for a beautiful woman." He smirks." No doubt married with children perhaps." She cuts her eyes at him. "I assumed as much. Now would you rather stay in my cabin or take a stroll aboard deck?"She slowly takes a step forward and hangs the torch back on the wall, never taking her eyes off of the strange pirate captain." Well, follow me then.
He leads her past the large wooden doors and up some stairs. The sun shines brightly down on her face as the warm salt air blows against her face. The roaring of waves and the sounds of men running around deck controlling the massive ship fills her ears. "Where are you taking me?" She finally breaks the silence between her and the captain.
"Unfortunately with the storms that prevail this time of year we are all but landlocked so for the moment you will be staying here until we can find a suitable spot to make port on this backwater island. "He looks out at the large land mass before them looming off in the distance." I do not understand how you can call this place home it's crude and unkept." He turns his eyes to her. "How could such a place lead to beauty as your self? "He smirks only to have her sigh in disgust.
Suddenly a member of the crew yells, and out of the corner of her eye, Eva sees the black mass of a cannon hurling towards her its bands broken as the crash of a wave on the ships port side. Just as fast as she saw it Ryark reaches out and catches the loose cannon with his bare hand, Eva steps back taken by surprise at the raw strength it must have taken to stop the canon and not have his arm broken at the force.
