Chapter 45

Readers POV
We finally arrived to the school after hours of preparation and hours of waiting for it to start. Being as it was during the night.
Susie looked absolutely amazing with her short red dress. I had my grandmothers gift dress on and I've got to say, Ben looked good in a suit. Like, really good.
The school was also decorated really nice, it looked so different to how it usually would. Banners, balloons, streamers, fairy lights, neon 'rave' lights. It looked awesome. Definitely ready for a party.
As we all ventured through the halls, checking what rooms were locked and unlocked. We finally discover that all classrooms were locked. The only places open, was the main hall room, where the party disco was. The bathrooms, obviously, the kitchen and the garden. I guess they kept that open if someone needed fresh air that wouldn't be satisfied by standing outside the front entrance. Which is understandable. The garden was a much better place to relax.

BEN Drowned POV
Once I saw [Name] in her dress. I was speechless. I didn't know what to say. She asked me my opinion of how she looked. But words couldn't describe how stunning she looked. Though I think she took offence when I didn't answer as she looked a little let down. I'll have to tell her later..
Susie on the other hand, I couldn't understand what was with her. She kept making weird expressions at me and her body language was completely different. I think she was trying to flirt in her slutty dress. It wasn't appealing to me in the slightest.
But, once we got to the party, it was in a dark room with just flashing lights, so that made it harder to see Susie which was good, but that also meant I couldn't see [Name] very well..

After a while of being in the disco, I have managed to revive offers of drinks from [Name], Susie, and other girls I didn't even know. Guess it was my amazing looks and good charm that won them over. I mean, look at me, who wouldn't want this. I'm very big headed and I don't even care.
"Hey Ben, can I talk to you?"
Susie whispers while [Name] was away to get some more drinks. I accepted to talk to Susie to be nice incase [Name] came back, but I didn't expect her to drag me off, out of the disco hall and into the kitchen, shutting the door. For a girl in crutches, she sure was strong, her leg was getting better by the minute so she only needed one of the crutches. Hence why she was able to drag me about.
"Look Ben.. ever since you saved me..I"
She trails over, taking a few steps closer to decrease the distance between us. Becoming dangerously close.
"I really like you.. and.. I would be happy, If you, liked me too."
She coos as her hand trails down the front of her dress, toying with the low cut fabric as her bust pushes through. She wore one of those, push up bra, things, to make her breast look bigger for the dress.
I of course didn't say anything. I was too busy plotting her murder in my head. There were so many tools around me, it gave me an advantage that she dragged me into a kitchen.

While I was lost in thought, I was suddenly snapped back when I feel her force herself against me, pushing me back against the fridge, next to the work surface.
"Does your silence mean, you won't stop me?"
She whispers, her voice and eyes full of lust. I had to think and fast. Although, I felt sick to my stomach as she leaned in, beginning to kiss my neck. I felt dirty and disgusted. But I finally see a knife rack to the side of me. Grabbing the biggest one carefully, I bring it to her side, ready to plunge it into her flesh. However, just as I was about to do so, we hear a gasp from the kitchen door, turning in the direction of the noise, we see [Name], her hand over her mouth as tears dribble down her cheeks. She shakes her head and runs out.
"[Name]!-"
I call out to her, dropping the knife and shoving Susie away. Listening to the sound of the knife hitting the floor with a clang. I knew Susie must have heard it and saw, but I didn't care at this point. I needed to go see [Name].

Readers POV
I went to grab some more drinks for myself, Ben and Susie, but when I returned, they were gone. But I just about managed to catch a glimpse of the back of Ben's hair, leaving the hall.
"Ben?.."
Leaving the hall. Following quietly down the hallway. He enters the kitchen before slamming the door harshly, causing me to jump a little. Slowly making my way over to the door, leaning against it. I could just about hear Susie's voice but I couldn't tell what she was saying. Taking a deep breath, i open the door. Luckily it was open. However, I instantly regretted my actions, as what I saw made my heart sink and shatter. I saw my best friend, kissing the neck of the man I love. His hands on her waist as he looks down her back. I couldn't help but gasp, tears forming and pouring down. They both glance my way but I make a run for it. Ben calls my name but I ignore and keep running.

BEN Drowned POV
I chase [Name] down the hallways. Whenever I called to her, she would run faster. I could hear her cries and it made me want to catch her more.
She rushes out into the garden, slamming the doors. I instantly open them and burst out. Rushing forward but eventually stopping. The doors slowly close behind me. She stood in front of the water fountain feature. No longer running, but still crying.
Taking a deep breath. I walk over to her, standing next to her as her head hangs low, her gaze locked on the calm water. She looked so beautiful, especially in the moonlight.
"[Name]. What you saw, isn't what you think you saw-"
"No? It seems to me like you were making out with my best friend."
I couldn't help but sigh. In the spare of the moment, things can become exaggerated.
"No [Name]. She kissed me, I didn't-"
"You said you loved me.. was that, not true.."
Out of instinct, I grab her shoulders and force her to face me. My eyes locked with hers.
"I do love you. I love everything about you. She kissed me, but I didn't kiss her back! [Name], I couldn't tell you earlier. But you look so beautiful. So so beautiful. Why would I not love you? How could I not love you?"
She was silent, her tears starting to dry as she smiles a little. But the smile soon drops.
"If you didn't like it, why did you let her do it?"
I couldn't tell her. If I told her the truth, that I let her do it so I could get the chance to kill her. She would never forgive me. And after all this pain of seeing [Name] cry, for letting Susie kiss me. I still never killed her. It was all for nothing.
"You won't say?"
She sighs, shaking her head, yanking my hands off of her and rushing out of the garden, back into the halls. [Naaaame]...

Readers POV
I make my way back into the hall, only to be stopped by the one person I didn't want to see.
"[Name]. What's the rush?"
It was Jakob. How could he possibly show his face and talk to me after what he did.
"Leave me alone Jakob."
I try to walk around him, but he slings his arm around my shoulder and pulls me back. Just in time for Ben to burst through the garden doors. Once he spots Jakob, his face literally spelt the words Rage.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing? Get off of her at once."
I had never seen Ben so angry and forceful. In a way, it scared me. But also, increased my attraction towards him that he would go so far to protect me.
"Why? She doesn't love you? She's had a crush on me after all these years. Ain't that right [Name]."
He tugs his arm, pulling me in closer. I swear I heard Ben growl, his eyes glowing with hatred.
"Jakob. I won't tell you again. Get off of my girl."
My heart literally exploded after hearing those words. His girl? Did that mean that? I was so confused. Was Ben  actually saying to Jakob that him and I were dating?
"Your girl? Pssh! Not anymore. Nah. I think I'll keep her for a while.. by the way. What's the with ears? Some sort of pixie wanna-be are you?"

BEN Drowned POV
That was it. I had had it. I could handle being called an elf, but a pixie. That struck a nerve. And for him to say [Name] was his? That was the final straw.
Flooding with anger, I clench my fist. [Name] watches me in shock, speaking my name before I lash out, striking my fist harshly across Jakobs face. Punching hard against his cheek.
He instantly releases [Name] and stumbles back, falling to the floor. [Name] rushes to me and links her arm with mine, resting her head against my arm as she watches Jakob spit blood to the floor.
He stands to his feet but I instantly begin to change, my eyes glow red and my teeth form fangs. However, I make sure that [Name] cannot see my appearance. Jakobs jaw drops, backing away, his lip stammering before he turns and runs. Allowing me to return to normal.
"Ben.. you save-"
I cut her off, no amount of words could explain how I felt. So instead. I pull her close and press my lips strongly against hers. She was tense at first but soon relaxes and returns the kiss.
