When the parents got back, Elodis had quickly gotten her French accent ready and perfected. The two's parents were talking about the war going on in their country at that time, and both of the girls overheard it.
"I need your number, you hear what they're talking about, right?" Silvia said in French.
Elodis nodded. "Give me your phone." She waited for Silvia to give her the phone, taking it and texting
"FFR" to her own phone so that they had each other's numbers. She handed it back afterwards.
"Thanks." Silvia said.
"No problem." Silvia stood up and walked over to the bookshelf, pulling off 2 identical books, and handing Elodis one.
"Pages 62-69." She said simply in French.
"Okay, one second I'm gonna record our parents conversation." Elodis took her phone out and started up the voice recording, sneaking out of the room to place it somewhere near their parents. She quickly snuck back and sat next to Silvia again.
"Genius."
"Thank you." Elodis said, grabbing the book and flipping to the correct page. It was all about a bunch of stones. Her parents said it was time to leave, and Silvia signaled for her to keep the book. Elodis nodded.
"Bye!" She said, before walking out and finding her phone, stopping the audio, and put it in her pocket to text to Silvia later.
