Imagine: Ex-Friend

My breathing
Can't help but get
Shallower
As I think
About
The situation
Where she would say
Certain things
And my feelings
Though visible
Would be further exposed
More closely now
For the world--
And strangers--
To see.

My palm would
Shake
With my arms
& my legs
& my voice
Which would show me
Venerable
Before I could say
Otherwise
Between gasps
Fighting
My breath loss
Forcing
The air to get through.
