Zoe's POV:
I look at the time on the clock above my headbed. I take a deep breath, applying the last of the foundation on my bruises. There is no taking chances today. I swipe the last of the icky cream under my eyes, covering the bags that's have imprinted there now.
I throw everything in my bag as I hear my phone ring. I jump over the bed landing on the floor an get up.
"Hello?"
I hear someone breathing and I hold my breath. What the hell? "Hello?" I ask again, sitting on the edge of my bed. I hear shuffling and the line goes dead.
I pull away, looking at my phone in utter confusion.
Okay....
"Zoe!" Tyra yelled making me jump ten feet in the air.
"What?" I breath out, clutching my chest. I could feel my chest pounding 100 miles per hour. "We are leaving, unless you want to stay?" she ask with a knowing looking.
I shook my head, laughing. "You would've thought that," I said getting and walking to her with my bag on my hands. "Let's go."
*********
The club was insanely full tonight. Probably because it was a Friday night, so I suppose.
People were clustered in groups, some dancing with others. Others just making out in plain view. I groaned. That was what I was escaping, couples. Because it wasn't real. Love isn't real, it's all just fluffy words to get you in bed, then treat you like shit after.
I inhaled the smoke coming from next to me as a freakishly tall blonde was taking a shot, a cigaret in hand. It was so dark here all I could make out was his blue eyes. I looked away as he caught me, a smile on full display.
"Hi," he said, well pretty much screamed over the blasting music.
I ignored him. Not that I wanted to be rude, I just didn't want to meet new people. Because doing so met also loosing them, in some sick twisted way.
I walked pass Tyra as she was dancing with Zach, both of them still together, after all this.
I stood in a corner looking up at the stage were a guy and a band were singing. My mind flashes to the first time I met Jesse. Well, second, when I truly made actual talk when I met him the second talk, even for my shy self.
I jump in my skin as I hear some calling over to me. "Hey," the blonde guy said out of breath. I tried to suppress a frown as I nodded my head. "Um, can I help you?" I asked, but it came off rude.
He chuckled. "No, but I can buy you a drink," he said smiling. I looked at him, annoyed. Really? Buy me a drink? I shake my head. "No, thank you, I don't drink," I lied. He laughs as if he doesn't believe it, true but still. "I don't believe that," he chuckles. I let out a puff of air.
"Fine, but only one," I said walking ahead of him. I leading him to the bar area sitting down where I was earlier. I looked at him suspicious. There is something about this guy...
Have I seen him somewhere before? He seems so familiar...
"Two shots, please," he shouted out to the bartender. "Oh, no. I'll just take a soda" I said pushing the drink away. "Oh, come on, I'm not going to rape you, if that is what your scared of. You see them," he said pointing to a group of guys in a corner. I nod.
"I'm in charge of taking them home. Therefore, I'm only allowed to have two drinks," he said giving me a sly smirk. "But maybe next time, though," he said wiggling his eyesbrows. The way he was acting made me have a sudden burst of engery. I laugh, and cover my mouth, the sound seeming so far as memory.
