***Preface To Upcoming Chapters***

Hello Lovelies!!!

I know that many of you have been waiting for an update and I want to let you know that one will be coming tomorrow on our Prince's 60th Solar Return!  💜💫💜💫💜

To celebrate his 60th, I will be posting a chapter per day for six consecutive days!
I wanted to do this as a way of apologizing for making you guys wait so long for an update😊Being that I write long chapters, these chapters will be shorter than normal but just as impactful.  I am currently out of the country on vacation, so due to the time difference the update will probably post either tomorrow evening or tomorrow night for some of you.

Even though I've been on vacation, I haven't stopped writing or reading messages from many of you guys wanting to know about the next update, as well as other things.  This leads me to something else I wanted to address...

I am so glad (and honored) that my story received the 2018 Eggplant Award for most ORIGINAL storyline because it is indeed totally original.  I have worked hard researching actual facts, mixing it with fiction and developing my characters to bring a one of a kind story to the Wattpad Purple community.  

So when it was brought to my attention that there are now a few new stories circulating, which are in one way or another piggybacking off of various ideas, themes and character similarities parallel to my storyline, I was left bewildered to say the least.

I am not...and let me repeat this a little louder for those in the back...I am not on Wattpad for drama!  My focus is on my story, not someone else's! If people are being 'copycats', they'll either have to read previous chapters of my story or wait on upcoming chapters in order to keep up because just as in real life, you will never know the direction this story will go in. I am a very creative writer and just like Prince, I can switch up my story before you're able to blink twice and still not miss a beat!

So with that being said, I will begin updating more frequently and the chapters will not be as long.  The reason I'm doing this is because with longer chapters, it gives the 'copycats' room to piggyback off of one idea (or many ideas) then tweak it and weave it into their story-lines to make it seem as if it's their own.  When it's done that way, the reader doesn't even realize the similarities unless it's blatant, and before you know it, you're reading two different stories with an eerily similar story-line.  I've seen it done on here before with other writers and I refuse to have that happen with my story.  So with shorter chapters and more frequent updates, hopefully I won't lose my reader's attention. 

If I see that the quality of my story begins to lack as a result of this, then I'll figure something else out.  However, please know that regardless of what any of those other writers are doing, my story-line will NOT change.  I  will not be deterred to change or switch my original ideas because other writers have decided to use it as their own.

Once I return from vacation, I will read those stories that were brought to my attention and address the writers privately only IF I think that is what they have done.  I was told that the stories are new, so hopefully there aren't too many chapters for me to go through with each story, but with the way some of these writers write, a girl can only hope.

I have found that many of the writers on Wattpad work very hard on their craft, and I know that sometimes we run out of ideas.  But to all of the current and future writers of Wattpad, let me say this:  Creativity is key.  If a writer is using an idea that you want to somehow mimic, let them know because they could probably give you a better idea than what you're copying or what you're thinking about copying.  Also, reach out to the actual readers for ideas.  I was an avid reader on wattpad before I was encouraged to write my own story.  Therefore, you never know what creative mind could actually be reading your story and could probably help you out with some ideas.  

I'm a history lover, a spiritual lover, a pop-culture lover; just a lover of life really, and I incorporate all of that in my writing. 

Even as I sit here on vacation, I'm studying and learning about so many different things that I will probably utilize in upcoming chapters. So use history, your life, the lives of others or just your everyday surroundings to inspire your creativity.

I have love for everyone, and I want us all to be great and to help each other be great. As Prince fams, that's what I think he would want us to do: Live, Learn, Teach, Help and Repeat. So let's keep the spirit of love in all that we do.

On the eve of Prince's Solar Return, let's not be sad by the void that many of us feel, but let's smile, love, laugh and remember all of the joy, music and wisdom he filled, and continues to fill our lives with💜💫
