Embarrassment

When the jet finally landed in New York, we went directly from the plane to an awaiting SUV and limousine.  Prince explained to me that the luggage would be put into the SUV and taken to the hotel ahead of us, because he wanted to take the children directly to FAO Schwartz.  I was trying to act mature and nonchalant like the other adults when he mentioned the infamous toy store, but I was cheesing and clapping harder than Preston and Michelle.

Noticing Kirk shake his head at my demeanor, my bright smile quickly faded as I retained my composure.  Being that I was so much younger than Prince, I didn't want to seem too childlike so I mentally checked myself.

As everyone assembled to get into the limo, Prince gently pulled me to the side.  Kindly clasping my hand, he began to intentionally whisper.

"Listen to me carefully.  As of right now it's game on and some of the places that we go will be like our first date, but on steroids.  People will point, whisper, yell things and may even try to take pictures.  I know that you're fully aware of how to follow my lead, but I also want you to be yourself.

I saw how Kirk looked at you and I'll speak with him, but don't let anyone make you feel as if you have to be anything other than yourself.   You're my lady and seeing you genuinely happy, makes me happy.  So smile, clap, do a back flip or jump up and down if you want to, but don't give a damn about what anyone says." Prince seriously stated.

"I just don't want to embarrass you, or myself." I timidly said.

"My woman being excited about the simple things in life is nothing for me to be embarrassed about, and it's damn sure nothing you should be ashamed of. Hell, you know how many men wish they had a lady who was excited to go to a toy store?"  He smirked.

I chuckled at his petty humor, but deep down I was still feeling uneasy.  Apprehensive to express my true feelings to Prince, I simply brushed it off with a bit of flirty humor.

"I may be a kid at heart, but you know better than anyone what really excites me." I seductively pecked his lips.

"Maybe we should go back to the hotel with the luggage." He wiggled his brows.

Mocking his previously petty tone, I gave him a straight face.

"I don't think so."  I tapped his nose, as I walked away hearing him giggle behind me.

Settling in the limo, I noticed that the two guys putting our luggage into the SUV didn't look like legitimate attendants.  I became nervous and turned to Prince.

"Baby, those guys don't look like security, nor do they have on an attendant's uniform. I think they're stealing our luggage!"  I panicked.

Climbing over Prince, I was about to break my neck to get out of that limo, and both Gerard and Kirk were right behind me.  Prince however quickly grabbed my waist with one hand, while using his other hand to stop Gerard and Kirk.

"Sweetheart, those are personnel that the Ritz sent to get our luggage.  Once we arrive at the hotel, everything will be in our suite." Prince softly explained to me.

Then he turned to Kirk speaking in a more harsher tone.

"I know that she may not be use to the formalities I'm accustomed to, but what in the world were you and Gerard thinking?" He asked.

"Her being here is nerve racking! I'm on pins and needles right now." Kirk huffed in an aggravating tone.

Even though he wasn't showing me adequate respect, I had too much class to embarrass Kirk in front of his daughter.  I was also too self-conscious to speak out, due to my own embarrassment.  Seeing me become upset, Gerard gently grabbed my hand.
