Chapter 14- Scars of Lightning

I couldn't move. The beast had set this all up, covering my body in blood and having Comet come meet me here. If Comet found out that the beast wasn't just a form that I could use then what would he think? If this word got out it wouldn't just be animal island that was calling for my head... it might be all four islands. 

"Kiero answer me!" Comet yelled as he snapped his fingers in front of my face seeming afraid to get close but overcoming his fear as he grabbed my shoulder and looked into my eyes. 

What? How is this possible? He is able to touch me? Why isn't he running away?  Thousands upon thousands of questions blast through my head as I stare into his eyes and struggle to find my voice but answer blandly with out any emotion as I am too lost in thought and confusion to try and even replicate human emotion. 

"This is the blood of targets I set up for practice. I didn't expect them to bleed so much. I must have missed the ratio of flesh and bone to blood. It is tricky as I can not match it from my own body." Comet looks up and down as he reaches up smiling softly and wipes the blood from my eyes and cheeks. 

"Your so weird Kiero. I can see this body what do you mean 'no blood'? Come on clean up I'll call my wife and tell her to reheat some left overs. Also no gift for my kid this time can't have him expecting one every time!" He lets go of me and digs for his phone as he turns away winking at me wiping the blood off on the floor, then his pants. 

I start to move behind him unable to understand what this means. Unable to process what human could possibly be this understanding. This loose, able to appreciate and tolerate some one who was so different and unable to match him. What was this feeling? What drives him to be able to do this?  My brain could not understand and my eyes closed as I could hear the door open again and Lunar stepped into my mind. Before the door could close I could see him as a regular wolf standing in front of a tree that was broken at the roots and I could hear the sobbing of a small furry creature in the tree crying out it was sorry. I did not understand this but I could not ask as my body began to move on its own heading to the shower to clean up.  

I could feel a shift within myself as that door opened and Lunar walked out and back to the place that let him watch my every move. I could almost hear the chains click back into place as he got there. So is he dead?  Lunar asks his voice echoing through my brain as I still had yet to form my own understanding of what had happened. Lunar's voice seemed bored like he had no interest in whether or not Comet was alive or dead. 

"No, he did not show any sort of emotional reaction. He did not seem like this bothered him once I tolled him it was from targets I had killed in an experiment gone wrong which is not far from the truth." I speak plainly my voice bland like uncooked rice. 

Hpmh, and I went through all this trouble to at least make things interesting and you wrap it all up nicely with a single sentence? How boring."  I finish showering up as I step out and flick my wrist any remaining water coming off of my body and going into the drain as I run my fingers through my hair feeling each strand fall separately from each other as the magic had dried it out fully. I pushed it to the right desperately trying to control it but again it did not listen to me. 

I walked out of the room and to my surprise I heard a yell from across the hall the second I had left the bathroom. 

"Ahhh geez for frickin sake! Kiero put some clothes on man! Your..... thing it's.... ugh just pants man come on!" Comet calls out in alarm as he covers his eyes and turn around placing his hands on his hips and breathing out heavily.
