"Never think you know some one entirely... They will always surpirse you."

The wind blew through my hair and I stretched out my neck, letting go of Griffin's. I  sat up straight and decided to join my joy of the flight with Griffin's. Without saying a word, I pressed my mental brain against his. Willingly, he let me in and our memories flowed together along with all of our emotions. I let out a sigh as all of the stress of the past became a burden for two instead of one. His memories from the first world flooded into me, the trees, the grass, the prey.

The PREY!!! My head exploded with pain as blood, fear, and panic flowed into the memories, consuming me. I grabbed my head and screamed as I fought the change. My eyes transformed quickly, flashing between navy and silver. My teeth began to quiver as they sharpened, becoming fangs. No I can't give in. I'm not this beast. I am not a wolf. I am a child of Shazo. I am Kiero. The transformation began to subside and my teeth flattened. My eyes seemed to settle onto the navy color. The memories faded and the current world snapped back into focus as my eyes cleared.

I felt the concern of Griffin as my mind became clear again. I did not want to face him, to admit I was not in full control, so I just patted his neck in confirmation that I was in control now. I reminded him that we still had the mission to worry about. A small snort came from his snout and he surged forward to the Island. It grew steadily before me as we got closer.

Griffin's paws landed down in the grass in the middle of the Island. I got off, still a little shaky from the fight of the change. I put my hands behind my back and popped it, I sending a signal into the air, searching for the magic on the Island. As always, it responded almost immediately with a sort of glee that seemed so unprofessional.

"Well, lead us to the threat," My voice was stern and serious, trying to get the message of severity across with my tone. Work was not meant to be confused with fun. A small navy blue trail danced through the grass, leading us though the town.

I sighed as we continued to follow the trail. The heat suddenly sky rocketed and the magic disappeared. Rapidly blinking, I tried to wade through the heat, only to stumble into the wall. I took cover behind the wall so the heat would stop overwhelming my senses.

Okay, I need to activate the heat spell that will keep my focus off of the heat and onto the battle. I muttered a single word to myself and to Griffin.

"Efas." I held out my arms, flexing my fingers as the chill rolled up my arms and covered me head to toe. Again, i saw the clear blue layer of magic cover my body. I look over to Griffin and he only nods. Sucking in the last heat free breath, he bolted around the corner.

I surveyed the street, looking for the source of the heat. I didn't have to look very far. About twenty meters up was something that had a humanoid shape, but was completely made of fire.

I started to walk in and as I did, the monster stepped to the right and revealed a human fighting him. I watched in horror as the monster sprayed some its fire towards the human. It was such a wide spread that it was nearly impossible for him to move out of the way.

Just watch. Don't try to save him yet. A voice only whispered and before I had time to figure it out, I was too late to save the human. I watched as he crossed his arms in front of his chest and the fire bent around him, forming a small ball in front of him while the rest of it blew past him, leaving him unfazed.
