"The judgment that is passed onto us by society is only as grounding as we let it be."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I ignored their cries out for me as I turned the corner to the teleportation room headed back to my island. A thought stopped me in the doorway as Griffin's voice rang in my head. "You could hold a public trial on Animal Island, Kiero this way more people know who you are. They are scared of what they do not know. They do not know you." With his advice rolling through my head and the music of laughter dancing through the air, the idea of introducing myself to humans seemed understandable and not so utterly horrible. I could clearly see the logic of it but thinking ahead I could also see how the process of doing such a thing would hinder me greatly in the future as many people would seek my power or to learn from me. The silence I adored would be squashed underneath the giant foot of societal judgment.

They seemed to notice my hesitation and Isabella walked up behind me carefully, as if not to wake a sleeping bear. I could feel her cool hand on the side of my arm, gently trying to turn my body to face her. As I turned her eyes were filled to the brim with worry as she looked into my only exposed eye to see nothing but cold calculation.

"I'm sorry Kiero, we didn't mean to hurt your feelings I was worried you had begun to get upset" Her touch became warmer as she reached up to brush something away from under my eyes and seemed surprised to find the surface of my skin under or around my eyes dry with no additional moisture.

"It was not you who upset me, Isabella nor was it your husband. I was lost in thought, you must excuse this social irregularity. Your husband instructed me of a Resistance against magic forming on Animal Island. I went to speak with them and was imprisoned but eventually set free by another human, to which I believe to be another descendant of a Beast of Balance. I am worried over the fact that last time there was more than one descendent in the same era. That was 200 years ago, and the islands were plunged into a great war that ended up forming the "government" your society so dearly trust today."

I could hear the laughing in the other room stop altogether as Comet walked into the room only able to hear the last comment. "Are you sure he was a descendant?" His voice was filled with worry for his wife, child, and a new addition to his family. "Kiero, another war could be huge. Can't you see the future, or predict it?" He pulled his wife away from my side as if I was the cause of this possible future. Behind the now distracted parents, I noticed a teenage boy walk around the corner and place himself behind the wall. I did not find it my place to point this out to the already worried parents.

"Not in the way you humans see it. The future is ever-changing, there is a branch for every choice a person makes and on this island alone there are close to 65,000 people. At the moment that you all make a choice ranging from, sending a text, mating with someone, killing another human, or even as simple as not eating that minute, there is another future made where you choose the other side of that choice. Meaning that within one moment there are at least 130,000 futures being created at once. Some will combine as there is little to no difference and others can be vastly different. I can see these outcomes and by looking further out can limit the amount of possibilities but that would still leave me looking at over 5,000 possible outcomes on just one island let alone your entire nation of the four islands."

This seemed to weigh heavy on their mind. They looked back and forth between each other until both of the humans looked back to the rooms their child slept in. "War can not happen Kiero. If it did would you be able to promise the safety of my wife and child?" Comet spoke up placing his hands on my shoulders looking me in the eyes as if this action would prevent me from saying no.
