Imaginary Relationship

She was a goddess.
I was a peasant.
Thinking of different ways to talk to her wasn't pleasant.

I had a perfect plan.
Until she met my friend Dan.
He was everything I wasn't.

Smart intelligent creative.
I couldn't afford to be like that.
I was a small farmers son.
While every accomplishment that has been made, he has done.

I've tried on many occasions.
Not even my brains persuasions,
Could cure this shy heart.
I guess we can be together forever, with the exception of being apart.

I really love her.
I can't stop.
She is a full course meal,
While I am the restaurant's old dried up mop.

She drinks and goes to parties,
While I work on the field and dust crops.

Now back to the poem...

I'm a good man.
I may not be able to afford expensive trips and name brand clothes,
But my love for you is what matters the most.

I cannot afford roast from a fine restaurant.
But I can make a toast dedicated to our love (with water of course).

I love you my beautiful dove.
We can accomplish anything if we put our minds to it.
