The New Step Sister

Eleven

I am in my room when I start hearing people come into the house downstairs. Muffled music plays from behind my closed doors.

I look at my myself in the mirror to check if I am ready. I'm wearing a short, off the shoulder burgundy dress, with silver heels, and my hair tied up in a ponytail.

"Ready" I closed my bedroom door and headed downstairs. As I walk down the stairs, I see people bustling through the house with red solo cups in their hands, dancing to the music.

I go straight to the kitchen where all the drinks were. I pushed through some people to finally reach the crowded kitchen.

I see Jin pouring himself a shot. I go over to him and say hello. He smiles when he sees me, but then he gasps.

"Wow y/n! You look really good!" He says.

I smile sheepishly and thank him. He pours a shot in another glass and hands it to me. I nervously look at the drink.

"Is this your first shot?" Jin asks with a laugh.

"My first party actually," I confess.

"Well, I'll drink to that!" He taps our glasses together and gulped down his shot. I did the same, but once it slid down my throat, I felt a burning sensation and starting coughing.

"Why would anyone drink this stuff?" I try to say through my coughing fits.

"It doesn't taste good, but it makes you feel good."

I rolled my eyes and chuckled. Jin and I chatting for a couple of minutes when I see Taehyung come up to me.

"Hey I finally found you! I want you to meet some of my friends, come on!" He took my hand and joyfully tugged me to the living room. I look back at Jin and wave goodbye.

He took me to the couch, where there were three other guys and Jimin. Tae and I sat down. "Hey guys! This is y/n, and y/n these are some of Jimin and I's soccer teammates."

I wave hello, and they wave back. A guy at the end caught my eye. He looked very cute...even hot. When I noticed him staring at me, my eyes went down to my lap while I tried to hold in a smile.

The guy reached over to hold out his hand to me. "Hey, my name is Bryan." His eyes twinkled as he smiled. I shook his hand and smiled.

In the corner of my eye, Jimin frowned. Amongst the chatter between Tae and his teammates, Jimin gets up and walks away. I was about to follow him, but Tae redirected me into their conversation.

After talking for a while, I went up to go to the kitchen to get a drink. I open the fridge to see that all the beers were taken, so I went to the cooler that was in the corner. But a girl was sitting on top of it scrolling through her phone.

"Uhm, exuse me.." I grab attention from the girl. I pointed to the cooler she was sitting on.

"Oh, sorry!" She got up and I got a can. "Grab me one too"

I grabbed another can and close the cooler and handed her drink. We both crack it open and drink.

"I like your dress, by the way." She said.

"Thanks! I like your outfit too." She was wearing a plain black shirt with a grey hoodie and dark washed jeans. Very casual looking, but seemed comfortable. My heels were killing my feet right now.

"You're lying, but thanks for being nice." She laughed. I giggled in response. "I'm Sam."

"I'm y/n. It's nice to meet you,"

"You too. So, how do you know the brothers? I've only seen them around school, but once I heard that they were throwing a party I had to come."

"Oh, my mom is marrying their dad, so I'm their new stepsister,"

She looked at me wide eyed and choked on her drink. "Are you alright?!"

Once she got a hold of herself she said, "New stepsister?! And you live here with the seven hottest guys I have probably ever seen?!"

I laughed. "Well, I guess that's my life now."
