Like many other of Marid's lackeys, I decided to get a job. It wasn't very hard finding an opening as I spend most of my free time at the ice rink down the road anyway, so I wasn't surprised when the owner offered me a job at the skate rental booth. Currently, that is where I spend most of my time journaling. The days are fairly slow while the hours are long, so I have lots of free time on my hands. I work Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays as to not interfere with any holy days in which I should be spending my time praying and or practicing for hockey season. The pay isn't great, but I didn't expect much. This job provides me with a form of escape from my friends, family, and responsibilities and that's all I could have truly asked for. I'm just praying to Allah that my boss will promote me to Ice Safety Patrol soon so I'll be able to spend more time on the ice even if it means I have to monitor the hectic weekend free skates.
