Today, Amir brought up how he misses America. He described the California skylines, filled to the brim with tall skyscrapers that brushed the clouds, and the sandy beaches that were filled with diverse groups of people from all over the world. Eventually, Amir went off on a tangent and spoke about how LGBT people (an acronym in which I've learned I fall under) are accepted in America and don't need to hide their lifestyle from the public eye as there's no punishment for being different. This acceptance doesn't exist in Saudi; you can be killed for being different. I used to view these feelings as sinful, but now I know that I can't control them. If Allah didn't want me feeling like this, then he wouldn't have made me as I am.
