"Brian stop it! Mom, Brian keeps taking my pancakes!" Jesse complains.

Brian makes a sheepish face when his mother—Chloe sends a glare to his direction from the stove where she's handling the frying pan cooking the scrambled eggs missing on my plate. She's a gorgeous woman in her early forties, is fairly tall for the average female with wavy brown hair cascading down his mid-back and stunning blue eyes, including her perfectly shaped body that looks great in anything. When I was a kid I used to have a crush on her.

She still looks as beautiful and I can't help admiring her. I appreciate women even if I can't bring myself to engage in a sexual or romantic relationship with them. "Brian, do it one more time and this frying pan is going directly to your face." Chloe's voice is threatening, sending a shiver down my spine from her fierceness. Aside from being drop-dead gorgeous—she's also fucking terrifying.

To my right is Brian's father—Dominik who simply passes one of his pancakes to his youngest son, "When are you two going to grow up?" He says in a lax tone. He's a good-looking man reaching his mid-forties, curly dark blonde hair at ear-length and bangs brushed to the side. His blue-green eyes are the same as Brian's, his warm beige skin appears lighter with his white shirt, his triangular jaws contain facial hair and his body is rather muscular.

There's a visible cross necklace reaching his collarbone making it hard to hide if it isn't with a turtleneck shirt. His natural lips twitch slightly, shaking his head at his son's childish banter; Brian takes after Dominik while Jesse takes after Chloe, makes me a little jealous that they have such great looking parents to raise them.

"Don't count on it." I snort, cutting up my pancake and shoving it in my mouth. A feeling of nostalgia washes over me recalling those times I would stay over at their house and in the morning they'd prepare pancakes with scrambled eggs. I loved it. Especially at a time like this, it's exactly what I need.

If only their lives weren't in danger I could relax more. Now I'm in constant fear they will end up hurt because of me, "I don't want to hear that from someone who never got laid." Brian retorts smugly.

A smile comes across my face, "What makes you think I never did?" I laugh at his reaction, Brian cringes his nose and shakes his head as if the thought of imagining having sex with another guy is disgusting enough for him. "Hey! I don't want to hear this conversation on the table." Chloe snaps, scowling for speaking about something inappropriate in front of Jesse. The kid furrows his eyebrows trying to figure out what we meant by 'laid'.

He's going to know eventually.

"I don't mind," Dominik says jabbing his scrambled eggs, "When I was their age I-"

"Quit encouraging them, Dominik." Chloe interrupts, round lips pull downward expressing her discontent.

I dig into my pancakes as Chloe strolls over to me and pours my scrambled eggs next to the fluffy meal, "Thank you." I speak with my mouth full. She musters a smile kissing my temple. She's like a second mother to me, she always treats me like family and I can always talk to her when I feel like I can't talk about it with my mother. My mood grows bitter remembering that women; it makes me wonder if Chloe and Dominik knew what she was doing.

Dominik is pretty laid back and he always knows what to say to help someone. I already got them into my mess, I don't want to involve them in my family problems despite telling Brian everything that's happened so far. I bury my thoughts to the back of my head wanting to enjoy this nearly normal morning, as I'm about to eat another pancake someone steals it from my plate.

Snapping my eyes toward the culprit, my breath hitches when I see it's Neil. He shoves the entire pancake in his mouth, blonde locks sticking all over the place and his honey hazel eyes are shrouded with sleep; he's wearing a white tank top and jeans showing off a lot more than I expected to see in the morning. "Didn't I say you're on a diet?" His voice groggy.
