After all that's been happening I just realized something. My blue Mustang. I don't know what happened to my car or if my parents found it and took it back home, or it's been towed. It's bugging me as I sit in this car in complete silence, wearing glasses I don't even need but I know if I don't wear it Neil will start bitching at me again.
It's hard to listen to the man when he's always demanding me like I'm his damn sidekick. Nonetheless, I'm sitting here having no idea where we're going or if we're going to stop along the way because I am hungry as hell at the moment. I contemplate if I should say anything, Neil will get hungry eventually so we'll be stopping anyway; I reach over turning on the radio.
I mess around with the radio until I find the station I listen to and before I know it I jump straight up with a large grin on my face when I hear the voice that literally has my heart racing and wishing I could marry him. "It's 5 AM I'm still in bed, no sleep I wrote this song instead," I sing along softly to MAX, this song called 'Home' is one of my all-time favorites.
"Can't plan it all ain't that the truth, knew it all before I knew you."
"She said look at me baby, do you wanna have this baby? Will she still be my baby if I say no?" I snap my head to Neil, blue eyes wide at the sound of his voice singing along to MAX. He stops singing to the lyrics glancing at my direction looking a little sheepish with the way his eyes gleam in amusement, "You listen to MAX? You're a piece of work." I advocate in disbelief. We have a lot of things in common—more than I'd like to admit but to be honest his personality sucks.
He shrugs his shoulders like it isn't a big deal to him. It probably isn't to him but to me it is as every time I listen to MAX or Sam Tsui I have to have to deal with Brian and Christopher saying how 'gay' it is. It's annoying and ignorant but as soon as I came out to them they haven't uttered a single word of 'gay', instead, they're saying how much it suits me but I know that's their way of saying it's 'gay' without directly saying it.
I shake the memories out of my head before I start feeling depressed, "Thank you. It's kind of hard not to listen to him when his album was released two years ago. I was more surprised at the fact we're the same age." He answers, appearing lax and not being as much of a prick as he was in the loft except it won't last. It's kind of disappointing, "Not to judge but you don't seem like the type." I bite my lower lip observing the annoyance creasing on his face, honey hazel glower at my direction.
"What kind of type do you take me for?" He challenges. I fake a thinking expression as my head racing to name most of the artists I listen to until one slips into to my mind and I grin, "Charlie Puth."
He gives me a confused puppy look, "Who?" I laugh at his inquiry, the look on his face is adorable. Now it's twisting into a frown reminding me of a child that grows upset when they don't understand anything. If I had my phone I'd take a picture, "Okay, okay, how about Sam Smith? Shawn Mendes? Troye Sivan?" I continue, wondering if he knows any of them.
"Are you messing with me?" An unamused expression settles on his attractive face, "I'm not into all the teenager stuff. I'm more into Adam Lambert, I've been listening to him for nine years."
I cock an eyebrow intrigued, "Okay, then. Do you play video games at least?" I tackle on the boredom wearing off, becoming interested in the blonde Hitman. He spares me a light glimpse, "Mario." I burst into a hysterical laughter at his response, lips curve into a cheeky smile.
"M-Mario? What are you going to say next? Pac-Man?"
"They're classics. Don't laugh, you must've played them at some point as a kid." He laughs along with me, deep and audacious sending shivers through my body, ears compelled to listen to him. He should laugh more often. Remembering why he doesn't I don't blame him but it wouldn't kill him to loosen up a little...maybe it would. "You're right, I did. But it can't be the only games you've played." I tease with a smile.
