I don't know if it shows on my face how dumbfounded I am in this situation wondering what in hell's name is he doing in front of my car, but it should be obvious. There are many reasons for a person to stand in front someone's car and one of them is to steal it. Naturally, I'll be suspicious, keeping a distance with my eyes watching his every move like a hawk.
He observes me in surprise, gawking idiotically, "I...uh...Hi?" I give him a look crossing my arms over my chest considering I can't do anything when my phone is in the car where this stranger is standing in front of. "Hi," I greet him in an unamused tone.
His flesh pink lips spread a nervous smile, impossibly adding to his attractiveness further and I would have been admiring his looks if the matter at hand isn't much more important. "What are you doing in front of my car? Are you going to steal it?" I interrogate.
He gives me a confused expression like he has no idea what I'm talking about which I know for a fact it is bullshit. "What? No." His voice raises in pitch.
"Then what were you planning to do?" My question throws him off, unable to come up with any response and the smile slips off his face taking a serious look, "Matt, you need to listen to me. Your life is in danger."
I blankly gaze at the man, deciding I'll buy Phoebe's cake near Brian's place instead. I walk around the front of my car and insert the key to only unlock to the passenger seat of my Mustang, "Listen, I don't know what deranged game you're playing at but as you can see I am perfectly fine," I pause when my fingers pull at the door handle, "Wait, how do you know my name?"
The enigmatic blonde rakes his hand through his hair expressing his impatience and annoyance, "Say whatever you want, I have no time to explain. I need you to come with me, so I can take you somewhere safe." I blink at the man, wondering if he forgot to drink a pill or pulling a prank on me because I am seriously not finding this funny. It's a shame, he's more attractive than half the guys in this county.
"Uh...no. Look, dude, I don't know you and I'm pretty sure the smartest choice for me is to stay away from you. Hope you get better." I tap my temple indicating exactly what I mean earning a vexed glare and a scowl.
I jump into my car slamming the door shortly and lock it in place. I start the engine as the stranger walks to the front blocking the path; I frown in annoyance seeing him cross his arms over his broad chest clearly not going to move. "You have got to be kidding me." I grumble to myself running a hand through my brown hair.
How the hell did I find myself a crazy one?
I honk the horn a few times, keeping the gear shift in parking, I step on the accelerator carefully as a warning. His honey hazel eyes continue to pierce through me, not moving a single inch. I move the gear shift to reverse, slowly pressing on the accelerator again making sure I don't accidentally hit someone as I do so.
I shift it to drive and stir the wheel to the left, the guy tries to get in the way except he is forced to step away when I rush pass him; releasing a breath I had no idea I was holding this entire time. Blue eyes flicker to the rear mirror seeing the guy still standing where I left him, watching me.
A shiver creeps up my spine, my gut twisting unpleasantly; I curse under my breath, hands becoming sweaty, the subtle feeling of impending doom settling on my shoulders with a kick in my stomach. I can already feel my palpitations increase slightly so I grip the stirring wheel tightly pushing it away as I concentrate on the road instead.
Nothing is going to happen. He's just some crazy guy trying to spook me.
It takes fifteen minutes for me to get to Brian's house, seeing it coming into view makes me feel more relieved. I drive around for a while finding a parking spot two blocks from Brian; I finish parking the vehicle and pick up my phone texting him I'll be there in five minutes. I stuff the device in my pocket making sure I have it with me this time as I hop off my mustang and close the door locking it in place with a single press of a button.
