Later that night at around two AM I woke up, I felt an arm tight around my waist. I turned my body and saw Johnson. He eyes were shut but his arm kept a firm grip around me.

“Jack.” I whispered. Nothing. I turned my body more and placed my fragile hand on his check. I rubbed my thumb across his soft cheek. “Jack.”

I watched as his eyes fluttered open slowly. He blinked a couple times and looked at me.

“Hey.” He said and moved his arm off my waist He rubbed his face and looked back at me.

“Hey.” I smiled. “Sorry to wake you.”

“It’s okay.” He said.

“Why did you stay here?” I asked. “Don’t you have Magcon tomorrow?”

“No, Bart cancelled it.” He said. “And he postponed the rest of the dates.”

“Is he okay?”

“No.” He said. “None of us have even heard from Aaron.”

“I don’t blame either of them.”

“Are you hungry? You look Hungry.”

“I am.” I stated.

“Come on.” He said and slid off of my bed. He slipped his glasses and stood in front of me shirtless. “Are you coming or not?”

“Okay.” I smiled and slid out of bed. I walked around the side of bed and smiled at him. We walked downstairs and we ran down the stairs.

We got to the kitchen and I flipped on the light. I pulled myself on to the counter and watched him look into the fridge.

“What do you want?”

“I don’t care.” I said.

“Do you like eggs?”

“Love them.” I smiled.

“Scrambled or sunny side up.”

“Scrambled, with ketchup.” I said.

“You put ketchup on your scrambled eggs?”

I nodded and he chuckled.

“What?”

“That’s how I like them.” He pulled them out of the fridge. “Pans?”

“Down there.” I said and pointed to a cupboard.

He pulled it open and took one out. He switched the stove on and cracked some eggs. I watched as he did so. It was silent, but it was comfortable.

“There.” He said and put it on a plate. He grabbed the ketchup and sat it next to me on the counter.

“You know, you never answered me.” I told him.

“What do you mean?”

“I asked why you stayed with me.”

“I didn’t want you to be alone.” He said.

“That’s very sweet of you.” I said as he stood in front of me.

He ran his hands up my legs and rested them on my hips. I looked into his blue eyes and leaned forward. I pulled him closer to me and connected our lips. We moved our lips in sync as he pulled me towards the edge of the counter.

We pulled away and smiled up at me, “you need to eat.”

“Look at you, caring about me.” I smiled.

“I’m actually really tired.” He said. “I only fell asleep an hour ago.”

“Why did you stay up so late?”
