12. PHOTOGRAPH

Liza's POV
Hands holding up my camera, I'm about to take a photo of the campus since it's a beautiful day today. That's when someone comes in my sight. Through my camera, I see a boy dresses in black from head to toe, smiling and waving at me.
I put my camera down and my eyes meet his from across the yard.
"Wait there! I'm comin' at chu!" He says loudly, making sure I can hear him clearly. I nod in response.
"Hi there!" He comes up to me
"Hi!" I look up at him and smile.
He takes off his hat, fingers brushing through his hair. It has a hint of brown and red because of the sunlight. Everytime he does that, to me, it seems like the world spins slowlier than usual.
David and I have known each other since middle school, when his family moved to LA. To be more detailed, we were close neighbours because our moms found out they shared the same passion of crafting and cooking. That means his mother often brought him with her everytime she came to our house. He used to rock those power ranger tees that I still tease him about now, but deep down inside, I find that really cute.
Fine let's just get straight to the point.... I have the biggest crush on David Dobrik. Don't get me wrong, I didn't have any feelings for him until the last year of highschool. Unfortunately, I've never been brave enough to ask him out. A side of me doesn't want to ruin our beautiful friendship we've been having these past years.
"Liza! Liza! Are you listening to me?" David snaps
"Yeah yeah I am.... what were you talking about?"
"Jeez. I'm asking if you're going to the party this Friday night?"
"Uhm... yeah. Whose party is it?"
"Scott's"
"I mean why are you asking? You have a girlfriend David" I hit his chest
Oh yes hi! I'm already dead inside
"Oh so that means I can't ask my friend. Ok then!" He raises his hands jokingly
I roll my eyes
"Yeah right. Ok maybe I'll go. JUST MAYBE! I still have to study  though"
"Come on! It's just the beginning of the year. Live your life! Let loose!"
"I will"
I nod with a smile before he leaves for class

"Hey Gabs" I say as I close our's dorm's door and throw my backpack to the ground
"Hey" Gabbie looks up from her book. She's laying on her stomache on a bed next to mine, legs crossed.
"You're going to the party on Friday?"
"Nah. I'm having a test on Monday. Mom would kill me if I don't pass it"
"Really? Even with Zane going?" I raise my eyebrows
"Wow I can't believe for the first time I'm the one who is telling you to go"
"Yeah, me neither" She says with a grin
"So you're coming?" I flop into my bed
She kinda thinks for a while
"Fine, but isn't David going?" She tilts her head
"Yes..... with his girlfriend"

It's Friday night and Gabbie and I are getting ready in our dorm. I'm wearing a simple white tee with a over-sized denim jacket, matching with my jeans. Oh and of course a pair of black Vans can never go wrong.
"Gabbie should I bring my camera?"
"What? The one that is attached to your phone? Yes!"
I know what she meant and leave my camera behind and just bring my phone once we come out of the room.
We arrive at the party after five minutes of walking. Seems like everyone is already there.
"Ok Gabs, I hope you won't mind if I leave the party without telling you"
"Yeah I won't. I'll go find Zane now!"
"K see ya"
I enter the crowd and immediately see David
"David!" I say loudly and tap his shoulder
"Liza! I thought you wouldn't come" He turns around to face me
"Then you were wrong"
"Did you go here by yourself?"
I shake my head
"I went with Gabbie. She's probably with Zane now. Hey didn't you go to this party with Stephanie?"
"Oh yeah she said she needed to go to the bathroom"
"Oh ok. I'm gonna go get some drink now. See you around!"
I go the kitchen. I open the fridge and thankfully pull out a can of soda. I take a sip of it and look around the house. Zane is already pulling Gabbie upstairs, David is still standing all alone at the corner of the house, keeping himself busy on the phone. Suddenly, he looks up from his phone and his eyes land on mine. A worried look appears on his face. He runs outside to the back of the house.
That's weird!
"Liza!" A voice catches me off guard
"Kwistennn! Hey!!!"
"What cha lookin' at? Is everything ok?" She scrunches her eyebrows with concern
Kristen was a girl I met when we both helped each other finding the buildings we needed to go to at the beginning of freshman year. We became friends ever since.
"Yep! Everything is totally fine! Never better" I say and take a sip of my soda
"So how are you and Scotty doing? Wow it's been so long since we last talked! We should hang out more some time"
"Yeah. We've been doing great. He gave me this bracelet for our nine month anniversary" She says and shows me this golden bracelet with their names on it
"Awe that's adorable"
"So how's your love life?"
"Haha. non-existence" I say, trying to look serious
"C'mon. You must be interested in at least SOMEONE" She smirks, raising her eyebrows.
She got me right, but I just can't say who that is. It makes me blush just thinking about it
I take another sip of my drink, pretend that I didn't hear any of it.
"Oh I think I really need to go to the bathroom now"
"Ok. It's on the second floor in case you don't know"
"Thanks" I say and make my way to the stairs.
When I reach the second floor, I see so many doors. SO MANY! Kristen said it was on this floor, but which door is the bathroom. Eventhough it's a sketchy looking lobby with the scary dim light, I still need to find the bathroom.
I walk along the hall and open the first door. It's a master bedroom. Nobody's in there. Second room, it's a smaller bedroom. Nobody. Third room it's the laundry room. Jeez, where the hell is the bathroom? I walk to the end of the lobby, my hand twist the nob of the last door and
