Liza's POV
"Why are you always taking so long?"
"Uhm. Excuse me, I like to look good for you" I yell to defend myself.
"Oh so you want to look good to make me feel bad?" He fires back. I can't believe we got into this "heated fight", again!
His face turns red because of anger. He slams his hand onto the steering wheel. I can't believe in the words that got spat out of my "boyfriend":
"Are you serious? What does that even suppose to mean?"
Seriously, I don't know why, but lately he and I got into a lot of fights. It can be from something so small and stupid to something huge, but he always over reacts which makes me a bit frightened everytime.
"You know what, let's call it a night!" I say opening the car's door and slam it shut. He doesn't say anything. Just looks at nothing, still in anger. I walk back to my house. I sit down the moment I get in. My back is against the door, I pull myself closer. Head on my knees, tears start to stream down my cheeks. When I look up a bit I see mascara is on my white jeans. I continue to cry, let all of my depression and anger out. Why do we have to always fight? Why do we have to yell at each other's faces? Does he even love me? Has he changed? Maybe I changed! I'm not pretty enough, I'm no longer the one he'a been looking for. I see darkness all around and realise I haven't switched on the light, after a good half an hour of sobbing. I stand up to get a glass of water and as I stand by the window, I can still see his car there. He's outside now, smoking. Of course he doesn't want to ruin his "expensive car" with the disgusting smoke. Being around him makes myself smells like smoke too.
You know what, I'm going to change into my pyjamas and try to forget about everything just happened tonight.Little did Liza know, the moment she walked away from the window, a girl entered Jame's car with him. This girl has been with him for a long time now, after a month James and Liza started dating...
The next day
I wake up from a terrible nightmare. Sorry, but I don't want to talk about that. Breathing heavily, I look at the clock and the alarm hasn't even gone off yet. I slam my head into my pillow and groan. I realised James and I got in a fight last night. Should I say anything to him now? Does what happened last night mean anything to him? To be honest, I'm starting to get sick of this kind of unhealthy relationship. I'm not his type. I don't belong to him. I'm not that girl who can handle being yelled at everyday. I'm tired of all the baby-I'm-sorry-give-me-a-second-chance from him. I mean I was so naive to give a lot of "second chances". But should I come over and say something? Maybe we should take a break, I can't deal with this anymore. That's it! I'm driving to his house
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm now at his door. I stand there, just stare at the door nob. Just calm down Liza! Inhale... I knock on his door. It takes him a few minutes, yes a few, to open it. The door is opened. I don't see him anywhere, instead I see a girl! WHAT?
"Uhm, hi! How can I help you?" The girl just simply gives me a smile! I'm so damn confused right now:
"Uhm, excuse me but who the heck are you and why are you here?" I raise my eyebrows at her. Her attitude changes from friendly to cocky immediately.
"Excuse me I'm his girlfriend!"
"What do you mean when he's my boyfriend?" For a second, I completely forget I'm here to break up with him, which I'm about to right now, don't worry!
"Are you saying I'm a sidechick?" We both say at the same time. Wow?!
"NO WAY!" Again, at the same time!
"JAMES!!!" We both yell!
"Yes, honey!" He walks out of the room with a towel wrapped around his waist. I bet he has no idea we've been talking.
"Good morning sweethea..." His eyes go wide open. He now see both of us, standing there, at the door:
"Do you have any explaination, James?" I ask him
He doesn't say a word. It's the first time I've seen him so weak and speechless. I then continue:
"Good! 'Cause I'm actually here to say that WE'RE OVER after what happened last night. Now I'm really glad you've already had someone to replace me. Good luck James and goodbye!"
The girl just look at me and back at him in confusion. I turn away and just leave. I drive away. I can't believe I did it and he didn't even say a word. Hope he can explain to his new girlfriend now.
I get back to my house and get rid of all his stuff. I throw it into the trashcan, saying goodbye is not that hard for me, in fact, I feel free:
"Bye James. Hope you'll live well!"
Two months later
David's POV
It's the morning so like always, I drive to Starbucks to get some coffee, all alone. Yes, I'm 20 and single. Have I been in a relationship? Yes! Back from highschool when I'm in Chicago. I moved to Los Angeles a year ago and don't have many friends here.
I open the door to enter the place and see the long line. Not too unexpected! I wait and wait until it's my turn.
"Hi! Can I take your order please?"
"Can I have a grande salted caramel mocha?"
"Ok! Your name please?"
"David!"
The barista writes my name and I give him the money.
I then take my order and just the moment I turn around to find a seat, I bump into someone. GREAT! What a nice day to start a day: annoying someone. My coffee isn't spilt, but that person's is, and I mean a girl. Gosh, this is gonna be so embarrasing:
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to!" I say kneeling down to pick up her cup, but she is faster than me
"It's ok!" She mumbles. Her hair covers her face so I can't actually see if she's mad or not.
"No, I'll buy another drink for you!" I say simply
She looks at me. This time I can see her face. She's not mad, at all. Instead, she just looks at me...and smiles. The moment she does it, all in my head is: Wow! This girl is gorgous!
"Ok, look! You don't need to do it. I'm fine"
Man I cannot lose my chance...:
"No! I'll buy you another one"
She just looks at me like: Why does he has to be so damn serious?
"Fine! Since you're insisted" She shrugs
Cool! I walk with her back in the line. Yepp another long time of waiting and the whole time she doesn't say anything to me. I mean it's not hard to understand since we've just met. It's finally her turn
"Can I have a grande caramel frappucino with extra cream please?"
"Your name please?"
"Liza"
Liza? What a beautiful name.
"Anything else?"
"Nope!"
I pay for her drink.
"Thank you!" She smiles
"No problem!"
I walk away to find a seat. Finally found one!
I sit there for a while, scroll through my phone, when someone taps on my shoulder
"Hey! There's no seat left. Do you mind if I sit here?"
I look up and see that girl again. I mean Liza.
"Oh yeah, of course. No problem!"
There's an empty chair infront of me so she sits down and puts her coffee down on the table.
"Sorry, but I haven't known your name yet" She says with a grin
"I'm David"
"Oh, btw I'm Liza"
"Yeah I know"
"Uhm... how?" She smirks
"Oh, when you ordered your coffee. It's a really nice name actually" Did I just compliment her name?
"Thanks..." She blushes
".... It's orginally Elizabeth but I prefer Liza" She takes a sip of her coffee.
"So you live here for a long time now?" I ask randomly
"I moved here when I was nineteen"
"Really? Me too! I don't have many friends here"
Wow! Did I just accidentally say how anti-social I am to a complete stranger? That's awkward...
"Dude, same here. I broke up with my boyfriend two months ago. Sorry TMI..."
"That's ok. It's nice to have someone to talk to"
Yeah real nice! What the heck David?
We talk a lot for an hour. She shares a lot of her stories with me, which surprises me because I thought she was really shy.
"Do you come here everyday?" She asks me
"Yeah totally!"
She laughs
"Me too"
I think for a while and decide to ask her:
"What do you say if we meet tomorrow? Here!"
"Sure! Sounds good to me"
"Awesome! Well see you tomorrow then 'cause I need to go now" I stand up
"Ok bye. See you then!"
Liza's POV
David and I meet at the coffee shop everyday after that day. It's honestly really nice to have someone to talk to. He's really nice to me. I know I told myself to have a little break after my breakup with James, but I think I'm slowly falling in love with that boy David every single day. I found someone who actually cares about me. He's so smart and cute, too. I know this may sound weird but I have a crush on the boy who bumped into me and spilt my coffee the first time we met.
It's another morning when I enter Starbucks to get some coffee and of course... meet David. It's my turn to order when the barista just looks at me and be like
"You must be Liza right? Your order is already done. You can get it over there"
"Where?" I ask her in confusion
"Over there" She points at the table where David is sitting. Have to admit I didn't see him there:
"Oh ok then"
I then walk to the table where he is sitting:
"Hey, good morning! I didn't know you ordered for me today" I ask him with a smirk
"Oh yeah no big deal" He acts so cool, not looking up from his phone. I mean there's literally nothing strange Liza!
"Well thanks...?" I sit down and grab my drink. There is more writing than the word "Liza" which is odd? I turn the cup around and I gasp:I love you Liza!
