Derek and I drove out to were Tracy's car was, Police tape surrounded the area where the car had been. We drove ten minutes down the road pulling in a carpooling lot .
"Alright, let's go get our sisters and bring them home." Derek boasted as we parked the car , and lugged our hiking bags over our shoulders, we started to the first point on the map. As we stalked through the knee-deep snow, the house came into view.
It was a dark, Oak structure with broken in windows, the front door hung open as though someone had been inside of it already, looking to Derek with hope he returned the look to me. We dashed through the snow, to the house, once inside a strange and almost awkward feeling flowed through me, we made a silent exchange to who would go upstairs and who would go to the basement. I navigated my way through the house down to the basement the floorboards creaking under my feet, almost if they were groaning from my touch. The basement had cheaply done drywall that lacked any character but the spray-painted, graphic images that covered it, they had coated the dull white like a band-aid covering a wound. The floor was concrete and like the doors upstairs they all had either various holes in them or just weren't there any longer. I scanned the basement with no trace of Becca or Alex anywhere, my heart began to sink, somewhere inside of me I deeply hopped they'd be here, making it so that I'd be able to see my little sister and know that she wasn't dead. Sadly that didn't end up being the case. Sighing I decided to return upstairs with no luck, meeting Derek.
"You find anything?" He asked.
"Nope, how about you?" I questioned he shook his head.
"Then let's get started on the next one" I stated. He only nodded in response as we headed toward the next place on the map. Hoping that we might have luck in the next plot. Drugging through the snow, a deep feeling of hopelessness filled me, want If we were doing this for nothing, what if they were dead and we were dragging our hope filled bodies through the snow to eventually Tripp on our dead sisters corpses?

"what's up?" Derek questioned beside me. I stopped in my tracks.

"what if the cops were right, what if their dead?" I asked, Derek gave me an annoyed look.

"your seriously giving up now?Brad, our sisters are badass, their smart, and they are the strongest girls I know, if anyone would find their way to one of these places it would be our sisters." Derek assured. I sighed giving him a weak smile.

" fine let's do this then." I stated as we continued to trudge through the snow.
