The next morning Jane headed to her meeting with Aria T'Loak. She thought back to the first time she met Aria a couple of months ago when they stopped on Omega to pick up Zaeed. The first time wasn't by choice. Just after stepping onto Omega, one of Aria's men, a Batarian not so politely, informed her that Aria wanted to Know what a dead specter wanted on Omega, and that her presence was forcibly being requested Now! When Jane approaches Aria in Afterlife, her guards accosted her with a stern warning not to step any closer, then began scanning her to determine whether Jane is who she is presumed to be. She couldn't really blame Aria for being cautious, she had been dead for two years after all. Hopefully this meeting goes a little smoother.

Aria filled Jane in on Archangel and the Salarian Doctor. After what Aria told her, she knew they would need to act fast. Jane hurried back to the Normandy, she quickly headed to her cabin and hit the comm system "Edi", "yes Shepard" "Let everyone know we need to have an emergency briefing in one hour." She told the AI "Will do Commander." "Thanks Edi". This should give her enough time to grab a shower before heading to the comm room. Thirty minutes later Jane was showered, and dressed, grabbing the file off her desk, and heading down to the crew deck for some coffee before the briefing . She entered the comm room early, and noticed most of the crew was already waiting. Jane took a mental head count. Miranda, Jacob, Zaeed, Grunt, and, what a surprise Kasumi, uncloaked. Just then the door behind her opened, "Hey Shepard." Jack said as she walked to where Kasumi was standing. "Alright everyone, seeing that we are all here, let's get started. Miranda can you pull up Omega on the screen?" "Sure can Shepard." " Okay guys, this is what we know..." Jane started filling them in on the information she received from Aria. "Looks like Archangel has gotten himself in a bit of trouble with a few Merc. gangs, they have him cornered some place on Omega." She said pointing to an area on the hologram Miranda pulled up. "The Blue Suns are recruiting in a room at the Afterlife we can get to him that way." Jane finished "Sounds like a easy way in, getting him out may be a bit harder" Zaeed grunted. " We'll figure it out once we get to him...Zaeed, Jacob, you'er with me on this one." "We'll be ready Shepard." Jacob nodded. "We also have a Salarian to pick up, he's at a clinic in the quarantine zone trying to cure some bio-engineered plague affecting the station. We pick him up first, then head straight to the recruiter." Jane announced. "Shepard?" Miranda looked at her puzzled "Wouldn't it be wise to pick up Archangel first? His situation puts him at top priority." "I know it's a bit risky, but I don't want anything holding us on Omega if we need to get off planet quick, he has held out this long, I'm sure he will be able to hold out a few more hours." Jane assured the team. "Of course commander." Miranda nodded. "Alright, Zaeed, Jacob suit up let's get us a Doctor, and an Angel." Jane smile "Everyone dismissed".

The mission to pick up the Salarian Doctor went without a hitch. Jane had Miranda pick the Doctor up at the docking bay while her, Zaeed, and Jacob headed to Afterlife to the recruiting room. The recruiter took one look at the armor, and weapons the three of them were carrying, and signs them up as freelancers without asking a single questions. They were told to head over to the shuttle bay, and another Blue sun Merc would shuttle them to Archangel's base. Once they arrived, another Merc gave them a preliminary overview of the situation. "Archangel is on the other end of the bridge, we are wearing him down by sending as many of you freelances we can at him." He informed them. "So we'er what...cannon fodder?" Jane asked a bit angry "Yup pretty much." He grinned. Zaeed frowned at Jane. "Well that's just plain suicide." "You three look like you can handle it, besides, he can't hit all of you." The Merc smiled. "Head up those stairs, and talk with Cathka". The Batarian waved them on. Jane, and her team headed up the stairs. "Edi." Yes Shepard." "Is there any other way to reach Archangel?" "Sorry Shepard, I can not find a different route to Archangel other than the one the Mercs plan to take on their assault, also the Mercs are using YMIR Mechs, LOKI Mechs, and a gunship to try and pin him down. I recommends sabotaging them before leaving". The AI announced. "Crap! Okay thanks Edi." "Your welcome Shepard, good luck." "Yeah, we'er going to need it." Jacob grumbled shaking his head. "Come on guys, we got this, first we take out those mechs, and the gunship, then we head in." Jane smiled.

As soon as they finished taking care of the mechs, and gunship, they headed over the barricade, and across the bridge taking out a few Mercs along the way. They finally reached the balcony; "Archangel?" Jane asked. The mercenary held up his hand aimed his rifle, and took out a Merc. He turned, sat on some boxes, put down his rifle, and took off his helmet. Jane's heart stopped, her head started spinning "GARRUS!" She yelled. "Shepard, I thought you were dead?" Garrus started to mumble, almost making no sense. Jane ran to him. "Your boy is high on stimulants," Zaeed smiled. Jacob scanned him "Dehydration, and sleep deprivation, isn't helping." Jacob sounded concern. "We got to get him out of here Commander." Jane pulled herself together, she had to shake it off right now, if they were going to get him out alive. "Agreed, let's get it done." Jane signaled for them to take as many Mercs out they could to clear a path giving them a safe route.

They were just about to make a run for it, when Jane heard a loud rumble. "Damn!" She yelled as the gunship came up over the side of the balcony. "I thought we took that thing out?" Just then the pilot yelled something at Archangel, causing Garrus to stand, and head towards the ship "NO...GARRUS GET DOWN!" Jane yelled as the gunship launched a small missile hitting Garrus. Jane screamed in her head, "This can not be happening, I will not lose him again." She garbed her rocket launcher, stood, and shot six rounds directly hitting the ship causing it to explode. Jane turned, Garrus was laying motionless in a puddle of blue blood. She ran to his side, and dropped to her knees. "Hang on Garrus, we'er getting you out of here." She turned on her omni tool. "Joker, get a shuttle down here A-SAP, and have medical meet us." "Aye, aye Commander." Zaeed turned Garrus over to assess the damage, it looked like the side of his face was hit "He's not going to make it." "SHUT UP!" Jane yelled "I wont lose him!" Just then Garrus took a deep breath, and opened his eye.
