Garrus left the elevator, and walked across the crew deck to where Tali was waiting for him. She grabbed his talon as they walked over to the main battery. "How did it go?" Garrus waited until the doors shut before answering. "It went good, she forgave me." He smiled. "I knew she would, did you tell her?" Garrus lowered his head "No." "Garrus!" Tali sighed with frustration. "She is with Kavis now Tali, what good would telling her we are not together do?" Garrus took her hand "You know as well as I do, of all the people we know, Shepard deserves happiness." He smiled "But she loves you, the only reason she is with him, is because she thinks you, and I are still together. Garrus, you love her!" "Yes Tali, enough to walk away. I don't want her to know." Garrus hugged her. "Promise me you wont say anything, please Tali." "I promise." She hugged him tight.
Jane walked into the cabin, Kavis had already put everything back in place, he even set up the new terminal. He was sitting on the edge of the bed staring at the cloths on the floor he had folded...he didn't look up. Jane walked over, jumped on the bed kneeled down behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I love you Mr. "F" " Kavis smiled. He couldn't stay mad at her, no matter how much he tried. "I love you too Mrs."F," so much." He turned and kissed her. "What do you say we take a shower, I check my unread messages...oh, and thank you for setting up the terminal by the way..." "It was my pleasure." Kavis playfully bowed his head. "Then we jump into bed, it's been a rough day." Kavis stood, and reached out his talon. "That sounds like a great idea." They walked hand in talon into the bathroom. "Ya know..." Kavis squeezed through the broken door. "You are going to have to order a new one of these." "Tomorrow." Jane gave him a devilish grin. "Right now I have other things on my mind." Kavis growled as he pulled her through the halfway open door.
Two hours later after the sex, and water washed away a lot of the days tension, Jane was dressed in Kavis' shirt sitting in front of her personal terminal, checking her unread messages, while Kavis sat in bed reading one of the books he brought with him. There was a message from the Illusive Man containing Kavis' dossier with a little note basically informing her that he was well aware of her connection with the Primarch Fedorian's son. Jane rolled her eyes, and shook her head. She should have known better then to think she could keep her personal life from him. Jane shut down the terminal, and jumped in bed cuddling next to her Bond-Mate. Kavis lifted his arm around her, pulling her closer. "Everything okay?" He asked twisting a lock of her hair through his talon. "The Illusive Man." She sighed. "He knows about our relationship." "Well, from what you told me about him, and from what I know about Cerberus, that shouldn't have come as a surprise." Kavis told her. "I know, I guess I just wanted to keep this one thing private a little longer." Jane rubbed her thumb across the cover of the book he was reading. "Moby Dick, another one of my favorites." She smiled. "Shall I read to you a while?" Jane nodded. Kavis turned the page...
"His three boats stove around him, and oars and men both whirling in the eddies; one captain, seizing the line-knife from his broken prow, had dashed at the whale, as an Arkansas duelist at his foe, blindly seeking with a six inch blade to reach the fathom-deep life of the whale. That captain was Ahab. And then it was, that suddenly sweeping his sickle-shaped lower jaw beneath him, Moby Dick had reaped away Ahab's leg, as a mower a blade of grass in the field."
The deep lull of his voice, and the gentle twisting of her hair had Jane asleep before the end of the chapter. Kavis carefully placed the book on the night stand, switched off the reading lamp, and turned on his side to face her. The blue light from the fish tank gave her an angelic glow. He reached over, and gently traced the scares on her face, "You are so beautiful, how did I ever get lucky enough to have you as my Bond-Mate?" Kavis kissed her on her forehead "I love you with all my heart, and spirit. Sweet dreams my love." He laid his head on his pillow, her sweet face imprinted in his mind, as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
