At long last (Mass Effect Fan Fiction)

Mr. & Mrs. "F"

Jane woke the next morning, and for a few seconds she wondered what the spicy sweet taste was in her mouth, then the memory of her and Kavis placing bond marks on each other caused her heart to flutter with happiness. Jane tried to tilt her head to get a look at the alarm on the night stand, when she instantly regretted it. Pain shot through her entire body, causing her to cry out. "Jane!" Kavis yelled out in a panic  jumping out of bed. "I'm alright Kavis." Jane moaned a little softer, still unable to turn, or move in any direction for that matter. "I'm just finding it a little hard to move this morning." Kavis turned to look at his Bond-Mate laying on her right side facing away from him. The bond mark he gave her last night had overlapped into the bruises she already had, stretching from the bottom of her left ear, across her neck down to her shoulder blade, and had turned a very deep blood red, and purple. "Spirit's Jane, what can I do?" Kavis was thinking he may have rushed this whole bonding thing, and he should have waited until she was healed. "Could you come over here and maybe help me to sit up?" Jane chuckled as she heard him trip over something trying to hurry to get to her causing her to wrinkle up her face in pain. "God, it even hurts when I laugh." She sighed. Kavis kneeled down in front of her. Jane smiled from ear to ear as she saw the bite mark she gave him last night for the first time. Kavis leaned back tilting his head to the side. "What is it?" He asked confused. "Your bond mark." "Oh yeah!" Kavis stood up, and looked at it in the mirror on the wall. "You did a great job Mrs. "F" I think you may only need to go over it one more time." "He stood examining it. " Are you sure you'er not part turian?" He laughed.  "Hmm Kavis?" "Yeah Babe?" "I really do have to pee." "Oh CRAP! Sorry Jane." Kavis rushed back to the bed and gently scooped her up into his arms, and carried her to the bathroom. Jane lightly placed her feet on the ground. "I'm going to hop in the shower." "Sounds good, I'll put some coffee on." "Now, that sounds amazing." She kiss him on the cheek, and headed into the bathroom.

Jane stepped out of the shower, wrapped a towel around her hair, and waist opened the door and almost slammed into Kavis holding her cloths. "Spirits!" She heard a women yell out "Mother, is that what happens when a turian bonds with a human?" Jane looked up to see two female turians standing behind Kavis. "No, I do not believe that is how it should look." The older turian turned to Kavis giving him a very angry look. "Oh I'm so sorry I..." Kavis interrupted her. "Here Jane, I brought you your cloths." Jane grabbed her clothes from Kavis, and quickly disappeared back into the bathroom. She could hear shouting as she quickly dressed, and walked back into the room. Everyone went silent, as they stood there staring at her. Kavis walked over and put his arm around her. "Mother, Vera, this is my Bond-Mate Jane Shepard Fedorian, Jane this is my Mother Siva, and my fourteen year old sister Vera." Before Jane could say anything the older turian gently warped her arms around her. "Welcome to our clan, family Commander." Jane grunted as the younger turian hugged her a bit tighter. "Careful Vera, the Commander has been through a rough battle." Vera let her go giggling. "Commander Shepard right here, right in front of me, and she is part of our clan." Vera was smiling from ear to ear. "yes well Vera, give her some room so she can breath." Her mother pulled her to her side.

 "I hope you don't mine that Kavis filled us in about why you are in the condition you are in, I hope he didn't divulge any government secrets." She frowned. "I'm sure he didn't." Jane didn't have a chance to tell Kavis what happened, so she knew he just told her something to put her mind at ease. "I was very elated to know that my son turned out to be the turian I raised him to be, not some cruel Brute." She gave Kavis a proud smile causing his chest to raise. "So Mother." Kavis sat in the chair next to her, while Vera sat with Jane on the couch counting her scars. "What brings you to Omega?" "Well, when you sent us your wonderful new, that Commander Shepard."  She turned and smile at Jane. "Please call me Jane." Siva nodded "That Jane excepted your proposal, we were already on our way to Omega, your Father has some diplomatic something or other he needed to address." She looked over at Vera. "And I knew there would be no living with your sister if we didn't stop by, we didn't mean to intrude. "Oh no, really you could never intrude." Jane leaned forward, and placed a hand on her arm.  Siva placed her talon over Jane's hand, and smiled. "Thank you dear, she is everything you said she was." She looked at Kavis. "And more!" Kavis winked 

For the rest of the day Siva told Jane stories about Kavis as a child,  then about his military career, and how proud she was of him. Vera persuaded Jane to tell her about a few N-7 missions she went on. Jane smiled as Vera kept her eyes glued to her hanging on to every word. They laugh, and ate, totally impress that Jane was dextrose tolerant. Kavis had just opened a bottle of wine, when there was a knock at the door. Kavis handed Jane the bottle to pour them all a glass while he went to answer the door. "Father!"

 Jane almost dropped the bottle, Vera's eyes went wide, as she scooted closer to her mother who wrapped her arm around her and whispered. "It will be okay." She looked at Jane, and nodded. "Hello Kavis, I suspect that your mother, and sister are here." "Yes Father they are." Kavis' father squinted his eyes. "Is that a bond mark I see." Vera took a deep breath. "Yes it is Father." "A bit small for a turian." He grumbled. "Because it isn't turian Father." "Asari then?" "No Father." You could hear the anger building in Kavis' voice. His father moved to the side, and looked into the room locking eyes with Jane. Kavis' dad pushed passed his son. "Commander Shepard, Primarch Fedorian, it's a pleasure..." His eyes narrowed as he saw the recent Bond mark on her neck.  "Oh, I see." He sighed and shook his head. "You see what Father?" Kavis walked over to Jane, and put his arm around her.  

"This is my Bond-Mate Father Jane Shepard Fedorian."  "It's a pleasure to meet you sir." Jane walked over to him, extending her hand. Primarch Fedorian  looked at her, and then his son. "Siva, Vera it's time to leave!" The two female turians stood, Siva walked over to Jane. "It was such a pleasure meeting you." Jane hugged her back. "The pleasure was all mine, thank you for everything." Siva nodded, and smiled then she reached over pulling her son to her. "I love you, and I am so happy for you." Kavis hugged her. "Thank you Mother, that means a lot to me. I love you." "I love you too." She kissed his cheek.  Vera rushed over to Jane hugging her, Jane had to take a deep breath so she wouldn't scream out with pain, she lowered her head, and kissed her on her cheek. Vera looked up at her. "I'm so glad you are my brothers Bond-mate." Jane hugged her tight. Kavis and Jane stood together as they watch Kavis' family walk out of the apartment.
