The Nice Girl (Part 2)

Jens pov

Leah and I have been keeping ourselves busy and it's barely the first day of our days off till she leaves. My mom takes care of Emilia and then Leah and I pick up the girls after school all the time. So after we picked them up, we get Emilia from my moms house too.

Leah and my mom hugged and gave each other a kiss on the cheek which I find sooo cute. Emilia was hanging onto Leahs legs waiting to leave.

"So I'll have Emilia the rest of this week Ma.. and then you could have her again on Monday."

"Are you off work?"

"Yup. Lyn gave us time off because Leahs going on that business trip with Lynda this time. And you know me. I cant even last a day without Leah so I'm spending as much time as I could with her" I said. "Of course" my mom giggles and shakes her head. "Well I'll see you next week then! Love you" I tell her and hug her goodbye. Leah and the girls do the same.

"Say bye to your grandma, Emilia!"

"Buh-bye gwamma!" Emilia says cutely and smiles hiding behind Leahs legs. "Bye sweetheart!" She says.

We leave and went straight to go eat. After eating, we got ice cream as usual for dessert at a different ice cream shop. Then we sat at the tables outside and all just chilled and relaxed out here. Did I mention we have the view of the beach again? We are eating ice cream at the pier. It's mine and Leahs favorite place to go. I always get reminds of the first time she asked me to be her girlfriend. This is the exact pier it happened at. Now look at us, we're married living our best life.

Emilia was walking around the table, back and forth while taking mini breaks from her ice cream that Emme was feeding her with. It was too cold for her and she kept getting brain freezes.

"another Em!" Emilia says and stands in between Emmes legs and looks up at her to reach for the spoon as Emme fed her. Thank god they're not fighting.

"Here sit on my lap. You're moving around too much" Emme says and pats her lap. Emilia climbs up and sits on her lap and Emme feeds her. I look at Leah and she forms a smile and looks back at Emilia and Emme. Of course, I took a picture of them without knowing and posted it with the caption "bonding moments❤️". Leah was the first like and commented "my world". Even though she's next to me, my heart melted. I lean over and rest my head on her shoulder.

I look over at Sofia who was just being quiet, looking around at the view and eating her ice cream.

"Sofia baby are you excited for your birthday coming up?" I ask her. She shrugs her shoulders and keeps looking around. "Your mom and I have a special surprise for you as a present" I tell her and that's when she gets excited. Although we haven't actually planned what to get her yet even though it's coming up.

"What is it?!" Sofia asks. "It's a surprise!" I tell her. She pouts but she doesn't say anything else. She's such a patient girl and she's so understanding.

"Can we go to Disneyland for my birthday too?!" She asks. "Of course baby! Whatever you want" I tell her and scrunch up my nose. I spoil her too. "Yaaaay!!!!"

"Jennifer spoils you too much huh?" Leah asks Sofia. "Yeeesss" She giggles and smiles at me. I smile back to her and wink.

We all finished our ice cream. A little later, all the girls were hyper. Especially Emilia..great.

"Stop running away!" Leah yells out to Emilia and then Emme chases her too. Sofia's jumpy and just really happy she was even locking arms with me as we walked around.

"Wait so.. can you give me a hint?" She asks me. "No!" "Pleeeease jen" she begs. "No silly you have to wait!" I tell her. "Fiiiiine" "I promise you it'll be worth the wait" I tell her as I finally had something in mind of what we should get her.

"Sofi sofi, come with us" Emilia says while reaching out her free hand. She was also holding Emmes hand and they were calmly walking. Sofia followed them and held her hand while me and Leah walked behind them and we held hands too.

"Okay..so what are we getting Sofia for her birthday?"

"I was kind of thinking that we should get her a phone" I hesitated. "A what?? Why?" "She's getting older! She's almost in 8th grade and-" "I didn't get a phone till I was in highschool" she says. "Yeah but this generation now! We could get her a simple iPhone. She could use it to call us, even for emergency. So that we have contact of her and Emme when they're at school!" "Yeah but- isn't she too young?" "She told me there's kids in her grade that already have phones. If we get her one, we just need to teach her what's right to use it for..I don't want her to turn into those weird kids who think they're cool with a new phone." I said.

"She probably wouldn't. She knows better than that" Leah tells me. "Mhmm.. she learned from the best" "who you?" "No you!" "Oh right" she says and giggles. "She's such an amazing girl and I know she learned it from you. She's mature and smart and I think it's safe for her to have a phone now. Only her. Emme..we'll wait on her till she's in highschool" I said. "Haha alright then" Leah says.

Emilia randomly yanks her arm out of both of the girls hands and walks towards Leah, showing her she wants to be carried by her.

"Hey! Don't hog her away from me" I joke with Emilia and cross my arms. Emilia mocks me and crosses her arms too and sticks her lips out. I couldn't help but close my eyes and laugh. She's so adorable. "Fine. She's yours for a few minutes alright?" "Yay! Mama carry me!"

I roll my eyes and watch Leah carry her. We continue to walk around a bit more and just enjoyed the rest of the day together. I cant even imagine how I'm going to be when I don't have Leah with us for five days. I don't know how Leah would be when she doesn't have her girls with her for five days. Girls including me.

We got home and the two girls took a shower. Me and Emilia and Leah were down stairs at the couch. She was playing with both of us in between us but she had her attention more on Leah. She's getting more attached to Leah as days go by which I'm fine with but it's funny cause I'm her actual mom.

Leah looks at me for a second then looks back down at Emilia who was playing with Leahs long hair hanging over her shoulders.

"Hey Emilia..mommy is gonna go give you a bath now" leah says.

"Nooo I want you to give me a bath!" She says and my jaw drops a bit. "Why? Mommy is right here" "because you're more fun with the bath toys" she says. I pout and cross my arm. My own daughter doesn't like me now?

"I'm tired Emilia" Leah says. "Pleeease" she begs. "But-" "pleeeaaase!!" "Ugh..okay!"Leah says.

"Emilia you know I was the one who gave birth to you" i said acting a bit jealous. Cause I mean..I kinda am jealous. "Babe" "What? She needs to know that" I shrug my shoulders. "Okay but she doesn't even exactly know what that means" "I just feel like she's getting more attached to you than me." "Isn't that what you wanted? For your kids to bond with me? I know Emilia still loves you deeply but maybe she just sticks with me because I'm the fun mom." Leah tells me. "I'm fun too!" "Yeah I know..that's what I don't get..maybe just because I've been more fun recently with her and not you. I mean you're fun but las time you two actually spent time having fun was that other week after you came back from the hospital..and before I..you know.." she says and eyes me down quickly.

"Right.."

"Well I'll be gone next week so you could have her back when I leave" she giggles. "You're leaving?!" Emilia says. "I- yeah. Just for a few a days." "Why?!" "I have to travel with auntie Lynda for work" "nooooo! Mama nooo" Emilia whines and looks at me and starts making that crying face. "Why are you crying to me? She's the one leaving" I said to Emilia. "Jen.." "what? I'm just saying" I said and shrugged my shoulders. Then Emilia cries louder.
"I-Emilia! Don't scream like that it's night time" "I don't want you to go mama!" "I'll be back! Mommy will still be here with you" Leah says. Emilia just continues to cry and buried her head into the couch pillow.

I sighed and left to go upstairs so Leah could handle her. Am I salty? Maybe. But I guess it's good they have a bond. But I want some Emilia too..that's my second baby, my second chance at raising a baby girl the right way without traumatizing her. Maybe things will change when Leah leaves. Emilia will wanna have fun with me more..now I kinda want Leah to leave but I don't but I do.. just cause I want Emilia to be my daughter again.
