There was a constant beeping and air compressor noise. Libby was laying in the bed. Her eyes were closed and her chest softly rose and fell in a rhythmic pattern and she looked so peaceful. I went to the chair next to her bed and slowly sank in it. Aunt May sat down behind me somewhere, probably on the couch. Mr Stark stood up against a wall across from her.

I stared at my hands, not knowing what to do. I could've protected her. If I went to her house before I left for school, she wouldn't be here right now. She would still be okay. Mr Stark continued to look through files. I don't know what Aunt May was doing. I just hope Libby wakes up soon.

I woke up on the couch in the room Libby was in. There was a blanket over me and a pillow under my head. I didn't even know I fell asleep. But, I sat up and saw a note on the floor next to the couch. I picked it up and read it.

Peter-
Your Aunt and I decided to head out. We will be back around 9:00 am to bring breakfast. Stay in there and keep her safe.

I smiled softly. There was also a water bottle sitting next to the note on the floor. I opened it and drank about half the bottle. I folded up the blanket and set it on the pillow and sat in the chair I apparently fell asleep on next to Libby's bed. I stared at Libby's hand as questions flooded into my mind. Who was that I saw going out of the window yesterday? Was it her dad or someone else? Who had thrown her on that glass table and stabbed her and left? Why did they escape through the fire escape? What if I had decided to go straight home instead of go to her house? A soft knock filled the air. I looked up to see Tony and Aunt May came in with a few bags of something, a sweet smell filled the room.

"Hey kiddo. How'd you sleep?" May asked, running her hand through my hair.

"I didn't even know I fell asleep."

"Here's some breakfast. Eat up." I nodded. I quickly ate the cinnamon roll and threw away the bag it came in. After I finished, I stared at her hand again. This time I didn't think about anything. I just completely zoned out, feeling numb.

"Peter?" A raspy voice filled the air. I looked up and saw that she was looking at me. She was awake. I took her hand and she softly squeezed it.

"Libby, what happened?"

"He attacked me. I... I tried to stop him but he was too strong."

"Who?" Tony asked.

"Who-who are you?"

"My name is Tony Stark. You know, Ironman?" She nodded. Then she took a minute to answer, looking around the room, like she had to think about it.

"My-my dad. He's the one who hurt me."

"What's his name?"

"Um, Dwain- Dwain Grays." Tony nodded. At that moment, Dr Strange walked in.

"Good Morning Libby. Glad to see you're awake. How are you feeling today?"

"Um... good I-i guess." He checked on the monitor and then he changed some sort of bag that she was hooked up to and then he left. A few hours later another doctor came in.

"Hi, my name is Dr Palmer and I'll be changing her gauze every six hours."

"Hi."

"Um, can you all step out for a few? I don't mean to be rude, but it's more of a privacy thing." I nodded and stood up and walked out of the room.

"Kid, I've gotta leave. But call me if you need anything, anything at all. And also call me when she gets released. I wanna bring her to the compound to get tested by Banner."

"Okay." He put his hands on my shoulders. I looked up at him.

"I mean it Peter. Anything at all." I nodded. Then he turned on his heel and left.
