Chapter 9 Jealous?
I giggled while I texted Sam. He is so funny! Kristina gave me look that said I was crazy, but at that moment I didn't really care. We were sitting in the living room. Kristina was watching tv while I was texting Sam.
"Are you still mad?"
"Am I mad at you for what?"
"For ineruppting you and Joey."
"Oh. No! We talked after."
She gave me a wink. I turned back to my conversation with Sam.
Sam: I miss u!
Me: i do to!
Sam: do u want to hang out at the beach today?
Me: yea ill be there in 2 min!
Sam: cant wait to c u there!
I haven't felt this way since Kyle. He used to make me feel amazing, but there was always something missing.
*Flashback*
Kyle and I are at the park and it's June. School had just ended and the weather was amazing. Kyle was chasing me around the park. I was getting really hot so I stopped the chase by collapsing on the grass. Kyle caught up and sat down next to me. I was panting really hard and was really tired. Kyle didn't seem to have lost his breath at all. All of a sudden he picked me up and swung me over his shoulder. I playfully pounded on his back and told him to put me down. He didn't put me down until we got to the swings. He put me down in one of them and sat in the one next to me.
"Will you push me?"
"Oh come on! You got two feet!"
I knew he was just joking, but I fluttered my eyes.
"Come on Iv! You're going to need to do better then that."
I got up and sat on his lap. I leaned in real close like I was about to kiss him. I looked his face up and down.
"Better?" I breathed. He seemed breathless.
"Not quite."
I knew what he wanted so I leaned in and kissed him, but it was missing the usual spark. I pulled away, but he tugged on my arm, inviting me back.
"How about that swing?"
He stuck out his tongue at me and pushed me. After a few minutes we sat on a bench.
"I will be right back I have to use the little girl's room!"
"Come back soon!"
When I was walking out of the bathroom I saw Kyle talking to a girl. I walked quickly behind a tree. I peek around the tree to see what happened. Then out of nowhere Kyle kissed her. It wasn't a little kiss. I ran back home. I didn't talk to Kyle for 3 days. I finally pulled myself back together and broke up with him. He didn't even ask me for a second chance.
*End of Flashback*
I saw Kristina staring at the hallway. I knew she saw the blank look in my eyes. She knows what happened that week and that I was scared of falling in what I thought to be love again. I jumped up and went to my room. I had almost forgotten about Sam! I quickly changed into my bikini and pulled on a coverup. When I stepped into the hall I ran into Nathan. Again.
"Hey where are you going?"
"To the beach."
"Oh... Why? We were just there yesterday."
I blushed because I noticed the way he said we and I didn't really want to tell him about Sam. I didn't have to though because Kristina jumped in.
"She's meeting up with her new boyfriend!"
I blushed even harder because Nathan's face turned from happy to neutral. I could tell he was trying to hide his real emotions, but I saw the look in his eyes. Jealousy. He opened his mouth to say something, but I pushed past him trying to get to the beach. When I cleared the door I ran to the beach. I saw Sam already there. I sat my towel down next to his. I sat curled up in the same ball Sam had found me in.
"Hey beautiful!"
"Hi."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
He looked concerned, but could sense I didn't want to talk about it.
"Come on!"
"I don't really want to go in. The water's cold."
"How would you know? You haven't been in."
"I just know these things." I tapped the side of my head.
"I guess I will have to do this the hard way."
He swung me up in his arms like he was holding a child and walked towards the water.
"No!!"
He didn't listen to me and kept walking towards the water. I looked around for help, but all I saw was Nathan looking out the patio window. He was glaring at us. I didn't see anymore because Sam dumped me in the water. I wasn't expecting it so salt water filled my nose and my mouth. I couldn't get up for air because Sam was oblivious to me drowning and was pushing me down. There were dark spots in the water. Then I saw him. Kyle was on the shore with the same girl. He was watching what was happining. It wasn't possible that he was here because he moved to Eurpoe right after we broke up and told me that I would never see him again. I felt my eyes starting to clothes. I was losing my energy and stopped trying to get back up. The last thing I felt before blacking out was someone pulling me to the shore.
