I remember looking up at the sky, feeling the need to simply live. I looked at him and laid back down on the hood of his Chevy, admiring how the stars made me completely forget about the dark they were drowning in. Even with all the secrets and wonders that darkness held, I still felt comfortable. The sky was like that too...
"It's really great to have you back." His eyes held a sort of blank that reminded me of who I was to him. "How was your first year anyway?"
I turned away then, trying to re-adjust enough to find a comfortable position again. "Well ... normal I guess." I sighed, trying to force it down. But emotions always slipped out around those big, brown eyes. "I'm never going back."
