"You're sure this outfit is okay?" Jo asked, nervously straightening off her off shoulder top. Her eyes flickered to Lila, who sat in the driver's seat with a proud smile on her face.

"You look amazing, Jo. Now go, you're almost late." She said. She had never seen Jo so nervous.

"Okay, okay." She gave herself one last look in the rear view mirror. "Okay, I'm going."

"You're still not going."

Jo groaned and slouched on the seat. "What if he doesn't like me, Lils?" She said quietly.

"Jo, he will love you. I promise you that."

"You don't know that." Jo muttered.

"Jo, I will smack you into next week if you don't get out of this car. I promise that he'll like you."

"I don't even know who he is."

"You'll know when you see him."

"I'm trusting you on this." Jo said with narrowed eyes.

Lily all but pushed her out of the car, backing out of the spot when Jo disappeared around the corner of the building and onto the boardwalk.

Jo nervously fiddled with the bag slung over her shoulder as she walked across the wooden boardwalk. She passed little shops that she would usually walk into if she wasn't about to go on a blind date. She dodged kids chasing after each other and tables from a small bakery before coming to a part where the boardwalk widened so there was space for an outside eating area.

It was there that she saw him. A pair of sunglasses were perched over his eyes, hiding where he was looking. Jo stopped, taking the few moments she had to take him in.

He was taller than her, much taller. Jo wasn't exactly the taller girl, so basically everyone towered over her. He was muscular, just how Jo liked it. She swallowed.

He wore a deep blue green shirt that wasn't buttoned up all the way. He paired it with a pair of lighter colored shorts and a pair of white shoes.

Suffice to say, Jo thought he was hot as hell.

Jo contemplated waking away then. She was self conscious, and she thought that her date wouldn't deem her to be worth his time. Jo can't remember a time that she had been this vulnerable.

But little did she know, when she looked over her shoulder her date looked at her with bug eyes, not believing that that was what the infamous Jocelyn looked like. She was, hands down, the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. He visibly swallowed. He really hoped that he could keep this one.

When Jo looked back at Declan, Declan decided to make his moving, advancing forward with determination in his stride.

He was so determined that he didn't see the waiter walking in his path, carrying a tray of dirty dishes. He crashed right into him, knocking the plates right out of his hand, the both of them toppling down with it. The plates shattered on the floor, Declan falling on top of the shards and the waiter falling on top of him, successfully knocking the wind out of the both of them.

The two guys lay groaning on the floor, the waiter from the fall on his stomach and Declan from the tiny plate shards stuck in his skin.

Jo rushed to them as did other bystanders. Jo helped Declan up, slightly supporting his weight as if he couldn't walk on his own.

Declan breathed air into his lungs again, having gotten it knocked out for a second time at the sight of the beautiful girl right in front of him, helping him of all people.
