"I am so fucking sick," Cal groaned, dramatically slapping his hand over his sweaty forehead.

Declan cringed, crinkling his nose as Cal blew a nose full of snot into a tissue. "Yeah well I'm just gonna go..."

"Fuck no you're not," Cal said. "You're going to the store to get me flu relief medicine."

Declan groaned. "I'm not walking all the way to the store."

"Take my car, dumbass. My keys are in the kitchen. Turn the lights off on the way out, will ya?"

Declan mumbled obscenities under his breath as he left Cal's room, shutting off the lights and shutting the door. Ten minutes later he found himself walking through the medicine aisle of the grocery store, his eyes searching the shelves for the medicine Cal needed.

As his eyes were searching the shelves they caught eye on a couple hanging around the small clinic they had inside the store. A guy in scrubs was sat at the front desk and a brunette girl was leaning over it. Her laughs could be heard from where Declan stood. A small smile grew on Declan's cheeks when he imagined Jo and him in their place.

Their sudden date the other night was better than amazing. They had gone to this hole in the wall Italian restaurant that had the best baked ziti in town. They stayed talking at that table for hours on end until they eventually got kicked out when the restaurant closed. They wandered the streets of downtown hand in hand until a little past midnight before making their way back to where Cal and Lila had their date. They talked some more before parting ways, both of them thinking about the other on their way home.

Declan smiled at the thought of their date, but it immediately fell off of his face when the girl tucked some of her hair behind her ear, showing her face.

It was Jo.

The guy she was with raised his hand to her hair and grabbed a lock, using the opportunity to get closer to her. Jo didn't move away. Declan watched with a numbness to his body as she laughed once again at something he said, unconsciously leaning closer to him.

Having seen enough, Declan grabbed the first box of medicine that said flu on it before storming off to the self checkout registers. Unfortunately, he could still see Jo and the mystery guy from where he was checking out, and he watched with heart broken eyes, not being able to look away.

The guy kissed Jo on the cheek, squeezing her arm before turning to a customer who had walked up. Declan hastily paid before Jo could see him.

Declan drove home with his hands tightly gripping the wheel. He couldn't help but think that he was hopeless in the area of love and relationships. Every girl had left him. This would've been the second girl to fake her feelings for him.

This was the last straw. He was done with relationships.

He was done with Jo.
