My Xbox Friend

Chapter 11

Just a few weeks ago i was talking to Jessica over xbox. Now she was in the back of an ambulance and for what reason? I dont know. Why cant it just go back to a few weeks ago when i had  Zero friends, because if i still had no friends , she wouldnt be in an ambulance right now. Now im here sitting in the back of a an ambulance and my stupid mom wont answer her phone. I'll just call her again.  i dialed my moms phone number once again and it rung and rung and rung. Then...

''Where sorry the person you are trying to reach is no longer in service..''

How could my Mom's phone be no longer in service when she just paid her phone bill.  I feel like i havent seen my mom in two days.  Im starting to worry and i never have to worry about anything.  i cant live without my mom.

We finally got to the hospital and i hopped out the trunk. Then they rolled Jessica out and she was still sweating from how hot it was outside. Then they rolled her to the emergency part of the hospital . When we got inside there was long line of people waiting. Last time i checked this was the emergency room and no one should be waiting. We butted through the line up to the front .

'' We need a room like about right now.'' i said.

''Well you need to wait like everyone else''. The lady at the desk said.

''Cant you see that she is unconscious. Just please get us a room , ill pay you.'' i say.

'' How much?''

'' A twenty dollar bill.''

''Alright.''she said while shrugging her shoulders,

I slide the twenty dollar bill up to her hands real slow and then i mouth, tell no one.

''Ok room 12, 5 doors down.''

A group of paramedics came and they guided her to her room. I started walking down the hallway looking in every window, because I'm nosy like that and i seen someone who looked familiar. The only person that could be here is....

'' Mom! What are you doing here?''

She just moaned and her eye was black and her face looked really swollen.

'' What happen to her.'' i asked the nurse that was standing near her bed.

'' She got brutally beaten by a person we cannot identify.''

''Can she even communicate?''

''No, she cant feel her mouth.''

''Mom i want you to listen, my new friend i made is in the hospital right now and I'm gonna go down to her room for about a half and hour. and ill be back.''i walked out of my moms room and walked 4 more doors down to Jessica's room. She was already settled in and doctors surrounded her. They had all types of wires and stuff near her and i wondered what they were for. Should i ask them?

'' Excuse me what are those for. Excuse me!'' They couldn't here me. I think one of them are for breathing and all the other ones i don't even know what they are for. Soon all the doctors moved away and Jessica was hooked up with a lot of things. She even had a mask on her face.

'' Excuse me doctor, is she breathing at all?'' i ask.

'' Yes mam. That's what the mask is for.''

''is she gonna be OK?''

''Yea but she'll have to hang here for a few days.''

'' OK, do you you have any idea why she passed out?''

'' I'm not  a professional doctor but i think it was because of how hot it was outside.''

Then she left and i was left in a hospital bedroom by myself. i was thinking. What kinda hospital has lines in emergency rooms, no kids allowed and doctors that aren't professional? This must be a joke, but believe it or not its not, this is a real hospital. Now who can i call? No one you have no friends my conscious answered.  I'm starting to get a feeling that my conscious hates me.  Suddenly i heard a knock on the door and that doctor i was talking to walked back in.

''So whats going on?'' i ask.

''oh nothing i just came in here to watch my favorite show, awkward. Ever heard of it? ''

'' um no.'' I'm was so confused. This hospital really needs help. The doctor should be helping the patient right now , not sitting here watching a show i never heard of .

'' Not to be rude but, shouldn't you be helping the patient right now.'' i said quietly.

''Thats not your concern, i know what my boss told me to do."

''I know its not my concern but i know he or she didn't tell you to sit around being lazy and watching tv.''

Suddenly there was a beeping noise coming from the hospital bed.

'' Fix that!'' the doctor yelled at me.

'' i don't know how! Your the ''so called'' doctor.'' I say.

The lady ran over to the hospital bed and pushed a few random  buttons and finally the beeping sound stopped.

''How are you gonna tell me to fix it and your the doctor, I'm leaving, You doctors here need to go back to doctor college or something.'' I scream.

i walked out .

Being home alone with no one to care for me and make me food is really the struggle. I never realized how lonely i was. i mean i do have a neighbor that is a girl who has been trying to be my friend for years but i denied her many times. Should i go down there? no she moved you doe doe ! I'm going to go visit her no matter what my conscious says. I got up off the couch and grabbed my keys then i went to there house next door. I knocked .Then waited. Then waited. Finally the door flew open.

''Who are you?'' the person asked.

'' I'm here for Claudia , is she home?''

''Yea up in her room. First door on the left.''

I ran upstairs and hen i got to Claudia's door i knocked.

''Who is it?'' she asked.

'' someone...''

I opened the door and put my arms out for a hug but she didn't give me one. She acted like she didn't know me.

'' And who are you..'' she asked.

''Remember me from 4th grade, Sadie, the girl that denied you as a friend ,'' i said sadly.

'' Oh hey, its you. Why are you here now remember you wanted no part of me, oh remember that sweetie.'' she said in a kiddie way.

''I'm just at a time in life where I'm lonely and my xbox isn't quite working so i decided to pay you a visit.'' i lie.

'' I've barely know you now and you wanna pay me a visit, four years later!''

'' OK the real deal is that i want a new friend and my current friend is in the hospital as we speak, so would you be nice person and just at least be my acquaintance.''

Claudia looked around and then looked at me.

'' Alright, but i heard your moms in the hospital.''

I forgot about my mom being in the hospital and i forgot to visit her after i left Jessica's room.

'' Oh yea, i gotta go visit her. Can i come over tomorrow at like 2:00. will that be fine?'' i ask.

'' sure why not.''

I smiled then walked away.
