Tuesday 30th October

"No men's socks today, then?" He asks as I place the items down. He scans the first one; frozen garlic bread. "Garlic bread?"

"Keep the vampires away." I reply, putting it away. "I mean it is Halloween tomorrow." I watch him laugh, "and no, no men's socks today. Sorry to disappoint."

"I am disappointed. I wondered if you had a favourite colour."

"Lilac." I reply, to which he laughs even harder at, "lilac men's socks." He scans the next item; a toothbrush, "and yes, I did check if they had a lilac toothbrush: they didn't."

"Damn, I'll have to make sure they get one in stock for you." He says, scanning the packet of jelly tots -- I wasn't doing this for the game, I just love jelly tots, "oh, and by the way, how did your boyfriend like his pencil yesterday?"

I laughed, "my non-existent boyfriend loved it!" I pack away the items into my bag, "he loved it so much he snapped it in half." It was true; Jeremy Wilson snapped it in half. And, I know that's nothing interesting, but I've really quite liked Jeremy for a while now.

I don't know why; he's a complete idiot. "Doesn't seem like a great boyfriend, if I'm being completely honest." He scans the packet of cat food. I do actually have a cat, so it's not completely a waste, "tell him if he snaps anymore of your pencils then Luke from the checkout will have to sort him out."

I grin. He grins back, "thank you Luke. I bid you farewell."

"Hey, that's not fair. You know my name and I don't know yours." He pouts, as I pack away my last item; a packet of paper napkins.

"Tough, Luke." I laugh, walking away from him and to school.
