Chapter 10:When things get awkward

Holly P.O.V

As he got closer and closer the screen lit up and Collins turned his head away from mine.My heart was about to burst, "Was he just about to kiss me?"I thought inside my head.I was shocked however happy at the same time.

After 4 miniutes Collins got up to go to the toilet ,he looked red in the face ,he was EMBARRASSED.I sat awkwardly by myself at the back of the cinema.I try to not think about it too much,but all I can do is think about what just happened and what could of happened.A few minutes pass and I see Collins walks back up the stairs towards me his hands in his pockets has he smiles awkwardly at the ground.

For rest of the movie we sit in an awkward silence, (but really you're not supposed to talk during a movie) multiple thoughts are racing through my mind and I can't concentrate on anything .When the movie had ended we  got up an left the cinema. When we got to the car Collins didn't even say a word, so I decided to break the silence "Is everything ok?" I asked, already regretting the move. "Yeah everything is ok I'm just really tired after the long day I've had." We drove home in silence, Looked out the window at all the blazing store signs as we made our way back to our neighbourhood.

When we pulled into Collins neighbourhood he stared at the ground as he got out of the car,fiddling with his car keys in his hands."Well I'll see you round,I guess." as he started to walk towards his front door. "Goodbye" I said as I walked in the opposite direction.Who knew that tonight would of got really awkward,he was clearly embarrassed, and it was partly my fault.

I walk into my house,and throwing myself onto the sofa in the living room.It's relaxing just sitting there for a moment. "Bang" I hear a pot clatter to the ground, I jump up in fear the sound seems to have come from the kitchen.I grab the item closest to me,which happens to be a candle.Walking cautiously to the kitchen, I peer round the corner and see Lucy rummaging through the freezer. "Lucy! you scared me" I gasp setting the candle down on the worktop,"Well lets be honest a candle wouldn't kill anyone Holly." Lucy exclaimed sarcastically, "Well that was the first thing I could find" I said taking a seat at the table. "So how was your date with Collins?" Lucy asked raising her eyebrows slighty. "I told you before, it was not date, we're just friends" I explained,Lucy kept making funny faces."There's something up with you,spill it" Lucy said,she knew me too well and I had to tell her everything,after all we are twins.

I explained to her how my trip to the cinema with Collins went we seemed to take an hour.

"And then he leaned in to kiss me...I think" I finished,"Wow, I mean I saw that coming,but I really didn't at the same time if you know what I mean." said Lucy, "No I don't Lucy because that last sentence just really made no sense whatsoever."That night I went to sleep with all the memories flashing through my mind, how could this possibly be happening to me.

The next day...

Lucy's P.O.V

I look at my alarm clock on my bedside table, It reads 7am time to get up for school I guess.I roll to the other side of my bed and then groan as I find myself on the rug next to my bed."Ouch" I mumble as I try to get up of the floor.Why am I just so clumsy I think to myself.I pick jeans and a top from my wardrobe and head for the shower,but as I'm heading for the shower I overhear a conversation my parents are having in their bedroom. "Yes I know,but how are we going to tell Holly and Lucy, it will break their hearts" my mum said to my dad, "We'll tell them soon,i'm just trying to sort everything out." he explained,their footsteps were getting closer to their bedroom door, I rushed into the bathroom before they could find me outside their door,eavesdropping on them.What were they keeping from us...
