Chapter 8: Milkshakes and Memories

Holly's P.O.V

"I'm so excited to catch up with Devan and Collins they are the most funniest brothers" I say excitedly to Lucy "So what you going to wear Lucy?" "Well I don't know yet what you going to wear? "Ummm......I know jeans and a top like usual" I say laughing.The doorbell rings downstairs, I rush down the stairs with my brush in my hand. I peer out of the window I can see Devan and Collins they "look so cute" I mumble under my breath  "Oops what if they heard that" I mumble to myself.I open up the letterbox and Collins eye appears I jump out of my skin laughing at the same time. "Are you going to open the door then, I feel like if been here all night" He laughs "Only joking" He says laughing,I pick up the keys from the table and twist the key in the lock.

I open up the door and Collins is standing there laughing at himself.I look at Devan confused, "He's laughing at his own joke again" Devan says shrugging his shoulders and smiling. "Let's hear it then?" Lucy says laughing. "Well you don't need your keys I'm the key to your door" He starts going red in the face laughing. "It really wasn't funny,and it's kind of cringey" I say looking at him again. "You get the joke though right,because my last name is Key" He rambles on. "Yes they got the joke but it's not funny" Devan says laughing at Collins.

Lucy's P.O.V

We walk down the road all laughing and joking around until we arrive at an American Diner called-The Seafront Diner.I hear the ocean reaching the sand going back and forth splashing against the shoreline.We walk into the diner and choose a high table with bar stools looking out to the seafront.We all sit down and discuss what we are going to order.A lady in a black and white apron walks over with a notepad in her hand.
"Hi,what can I get you?" She says smiling. "I'll have a chocolate milkshake please" me and Holly say in unison,we start to giggle at ourselves. "I'll have a strawberry milkshake" says Devan taking his phone out his pocket. "And I'll have a vanilla Milkshake" Collins says.The women smiles and walks over to the kitchen to start making them.

"Why you so basic Collins?" Devan says joking around. "Because Devan I'm a basic guy" we all burst out laughing from what Collins just said.After we all have finished laughing and talking we get our milkshakes and start to drink them.Collins takes a picture of the milkshakes and posts it onto his Instagram. "Hey let's all get a picture together" I say getting my phone ready to take a picture. "Ok on one...two...three say milkshakes!" We all smile and I take the picture.

Holly's  P.O.V

"How about we go for a walk along the beach?" I say. We all get up from our seats. Collins nearly trips over his own feet while trying  to make his  way out the door,we all laugh at him for what seems to be the fiftieth time today. "You're like a giraffe on roller skates" Lucy says laughing again,we all make our way outside.The sun is setting over the ocean as we walk across the golden sand.

I sit down on a nearby rock and let the winds go through my hair.The breeze is refreshing and cool. "Are you trying to recreate the Little Mermaid" Collins says walking over. "Yes that's what every girl does when she's at the beach,am I right?" I say brushing my hair out of my face. "Well maybe someday I will become part of your world" he says sitting down in the rock next to me. "Was that your attempt at a pick up line,and if it was it was terrible?!" I say laughing nervously.He goes red in the face. "No well um...maybe" he laughs and then sprints towards Devan and Lucy who are throwing pebbles into the sea.

I have this warm feeling in my chest for a moment and look over at Collins he glances at me and quickly looks down at the sand.I look at the sea nervously.Whats going on,am I imagining this or does Collins like me,or I'm just self-absorbed I smile to myself and enjoy the rest of the evening with my favourite people.

Lucy's P.O.V

I watch the sea hit the shoreline in sharp and rhythmic movements,it all interrupted when Collins throws a massive rock into the ocean.The water splashes all over me leaving me soaked. "Collins" I say turning around and laughing. "Sorry" He says smiling. "So I thought you were talking to Holly?" I ask throwing another pebble into the ocean. "Yeah I was,but I made the conversation real awkward" he says nodding his head nervously. "What did you even say?" Devan chimes in. "Um you know just stuff" He explains. "Yea nice try" I say giggling.

"Wait what do you mean?" Collins says looking up from the ground. "I got it...you've got twin telepathy or something like that" He says his eyes growing wide. "No,but she'll tell me everything later anyway" I say laughing as I start drawing into the sand with a stick.

"So do you think that me and Devan share the same thoughts" He questions. "Ok,trust me if we had the same thoughts you'd know about it and also I would be clumsy and crazy like you" Devan says laughing.I laugh at them both as they joke around with each other.

The sky starts to get dark and we start to make our way home.I look at all the city lights and twinkling stars among the palm trees above our heads.We all say goodbye to each other and me and Holly walk into our house. "Spill it!" I say looking at her. "I knew that you would know" Holly says taking off her shoes.

"Well I think Collins likes me..." Holly says,Silence hangs in the air for a few moments before I realise what Holly is actually saying, "Holly we are going to need some tea,I'll start boiling the kettle" I say seriously.Because for British people apparently tea makes any situation better.
