Chapter 9: Spilling the tea

Holly's P.O.V

I sit down with my cup of tea in my hands. Lucy looks at me wide eyed in shock."What's wrong Lucy?" I ask her sipping my tea slowly." I had a feeling he liked you" Lucy said."I don't know what think, it was really awkward but he was kind of sweet too" I explained.

"So what happens now...?" Lucy asks a smile creeping onto her face. "I can see you grinning over there Lucy,stop!" I say throwing a pillow at her giggling. "Sorry" says Lucy laughing at me. "But honestly would you ever consider dating Collins?" Lucy asks hugging the fluffy pillow on the sofa. "Yes I guess I would,he is really nice I want to get to know him more first though" I explain to her.

"So what do you want for dinner Lucy? I ask. "Can we just get Dominoes because I really can't be asked to cook food" I say finding my purse.I look at the time on the clock it reads 11:00pm sighing I get up from the sofa.

*30 minutes later*

I open the pizza box and take the last slice out.I watch the tv and realise that Lucy is gone. "Lucy?!" I shout getting up from the sofa. "What?" Lucy shouts back down the stairs giggling. "What are you doing up..." I'm interrupted by someone knocking at the door.Its dark outside and I'm slightly scared to open the door for all I know it could be a serial killer or that 13 year old girl across the road either way it's a bad situation. "I look out the window" and see Collins standing outside looking at the floor.Puzzled I make my way to the door.

When I open the door I am greeted by Collins smiling at me. "Hi" I say looking confused. "Yes I know what you're thinking why I am here at like 11:30 at night?" He says breathlessly. "Yeah why are you here?" I say laughing. "I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to go to the movies
tonight,and someone told me you really want to see the new romance movie"He said sheepishly. "OMG you really want to go and see a romance movie with me?" I say going red in embarrassment. "Well it's not my sort of thing,but if it makes you happy then yes" He says smiling again.My heart melts at what he says and I stare at him for a while.

"Well just so you know I'd be happy to go" I say putting on my shoes. "Lucy I'm going out,tell Mum and dad I'm with Collins" I shout to Lucy upstairs.I walk out into the humid air with Collins beside me. "You don't mind going in my car right?"He says as we near Collins and Devan's house next door to ours.

I look up at our house and see Lucy upstairs in my bedroom making kissing faces against the glass.I make movements with my hands for her to stop. "What's wrong?" Collins says laughing. "Nothing" I say looking away from Lucy. "And yes I'm fine with going in your car" I say smiling at him.

For a moment he just stares at me with his big blue eyes trying to work me out and then laughs to himself while looking up at the night sky.We make it to his car.Minutes later we arrive at the cinema.Collins says "I'll get the popcorn before it runs out" and runs over like a maniac to the popcorn machine. "That is one boy that is crazy about popcorn" I mumble under my breath laughing to myself.

"And I'm one girl crazy about popcorn" I hear a voice behind me say.I whip around and see Amelia standing behind me with her boyfriend Joe. "Hello" I say pulling Amelia into a hug. "How's it going then?" She asks watching Collins cautiously at the popcorn machine with narrowed eyes. "Good I'm here with Collins to see a movie" I explain to Amelia. "Ok...so he finally asked you out?!" She says squealing with excitement. "No we're just friends and what do you mean by finally?" I question her biting my lip nervously.

I see Joe elbow her in the side and whisper something under his breath.She winces at the pain and looks around nervously. "You know what forget I ever said that?!" She says walking away quickly to the cinema screen doors. "But wait!" I say starting to walk quickly after her and Joe. "Can't wait the movie is about to start" she says her voice fading as she becomes further and further away.

I sigh and watch Collins come over with too buckets of popcorn in his hands. "What was that all about?" He asks looking in the direction Amelia and Joe went in. "I don't know?" I say squinting my eyes. "Anyway we should probably get our seats" He says as we start to walk alongside one another.We make our way into the screen where they play the movie.I sit down in my seat getting comfy.We have picked the seats right at the back and no other seats are next to us.Anyway late night screenings are usually not busy.

Collins looks around and then at me. "I forgot the drinks" he says as he runs down the lit up stairs. "Don't be long,you will miss the movie" I shout as he makes his way out.
He comes back five minutes later with the drinks in his hand. "I've got the drinks" he says smiling except the smile doesn't last for long at He manages to trip over the popcorn bucket and fall into me. "Well hello there, I mean Sorry!" He says laughing he starts to go red in the face and yes you can even see it in the dark it's that visible.His face is inches away from mine.
We look into each other's eyes for a minute and I feel my heart beating in my chest.

He's getting closer and closer...
