I was in a real bad state of shock after everyone came into the garage. William called 911 and we all drove out with the ambulance to the hospital. when they took Alexie back to the emergency room, I had about six nurses holding me back, stopping me from going back with my best friend in the entire world. William held me down as I cried my heart out right there in front of strangers. "I'm sorry." I kept saying. "I'm so sorry. its my fault. I'm sorry. " William held me like I was his son. "No, Arnie. " he said. "its not your fault. its nobody's fault. Alexie is very brave. very strong. she'll make it through this. do you hear me?" "yes. " I cried. William hissed my head. "she will make it, arnie. don't ever think that Alexie Johnson won't make it. she is tough. she's a survivor. OK?" I nodded. he handed me a tissue. "now wipe your face, son. I'll go see how she is. " I took a box of tissues and cleaned my face. then I stood up and walked over to Alexie's brothers and sisters. they were taking it pretty hard. everyone was holding someone, and we were all crying. Jessi was holding Jackson in a corner nearby. Jackson was crying his 6 year old heart out. I slowly walked over and put my arms around both of them. they fell into my arms and sobbed. "why alexie?" Jessi asked. I  shook my head. "I don't know, Jes." I replied. "but I am going to tell you what your daddy told me; Alexie is a fighter. she will get through this. its no ones fault. no one's. she's going to be just fine. it's okay. " Jessi wiped her face and signed what I just said to Jackson. he turned to me and signed," thank you." I signed back," you're welcome. "
