after I had the transfusion, I went back to waiting room. we all stayed there for another 2 1/2 hours, then we were finally told that we could see Alexie. William and kate went in first. we went in pairs.

and the rest of the little kids went together. we all had 2 minutes for each pair. then, I went last. everyone left after I told them that I would drive Christine home. I walked into Alexie's room and saw her laying there, so tiny on that bed. she turned to look at me. "Arnie." she whispered. I resisted the urge to cry. I stood near her, with my hands in my pockets. "hey baby. " I said. she raised her arms and I gently fell into them. she sniffed and said," I thought I wasn't going to see any of you ever again. but I can't tell you anything else... I... I don't know what ha-" "its okay, Lex." I told her. "as long as you are okay, that's all that matters."
I wiped away stray tears. she held my hand. "Arnie." she whispered. "please don't cry. " I missed her gently on the lips. " I was so worries, baby. that's all. when I found you... I almost had a heart attack. I though I lost you. you mean the world to me, Alexie. And... I've been meaning go tell you something. "
