Alexie's story- Forever Yours

Arnie's POV

bout 1 -hour later, the doctor in charge of alexie came in and told us he wanted to speak with us. we all crowded into a pretty big room and waited to hear what he had to say. "okay," the doc said, shutting the door. "I have good news and bad news. " "bad news first. " William said. we all nodded. "okay. " the doc replied. "the bad news is that Alexie lost a lot of blood and she will need a blood transfusion from one of you. " "Oh God." Michael whispered. Mackenzie held him close and whispered something in his ear. "and the good news?" kate asked. "just one minute, Mrs Johnson." the doc said. "another piece of bad news is that she sprained her ankle pretty bad. now, after the transfusion, she will need to be on three different kinds of pills; one from the surgery for the headaches she might have after we get the back of her head stitched up; that's what we need the surgery for. another is for the pain she might have for her sprained ankle. and the last one is for some sicknesses she might have like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, etc. now for the good news?" we all nodded. he doc stood up and said," she is going to live. in fact, she's just fine. after the surgery we plan on having as soon as possible, like in 30 minutes, you can all come and see her. but when she wakes up, she won't remember anything due to her unconsciousness. a few days later, she might be able to tell you everything. any questions?" "how soon can she come home?" Michael asked. the doc walked to the door, " in about three days. we want to check and see how well she is doing. then we will have to teach her how to use the crutches she will need for her ankle. " "absolutely. thank you doc," William said as he went over to shake his hand."we all appreciate it. don't we, kids?" "yes!" we all replied. the doctor nodded. "any time. now, Mr Johnson, I'm curious. how many of these kids are yours? I want to see how many I should test for the transfusion. " William took a step back and looked down. despite everything that went on in the past 2 hours, we all laughed. "uhhh.." William sighed. "I have 21 kids. Counting Alexie. the rest are my daughter's kids and my son's family, and Arnie is basically my son as well, but he's actually Alexie's best friend. " the doc shut the door as he looked at all of us. "okay. let's do it like this;  whoever is Alexie's brothers, raise your hand. " Michael, DJ, Daneil, Anthony, Johnathan, and Jackson raised their hands. " the doc nodded. "okay.. six. now, sisters? Seara, summer, Adrianna, Hannah, lesha, Robyn, Sarah, Michelle, Madison, janessa, Jillian, Jessi, Terri, and Renee raised their hands. " 13." the doc wrote that down on the notepad he was writing in. "nieces?" Mackenzie and Michael held up mikinley and makenlee. the doc smiled. "they are so cute. " " thank you. " Mackenzie replied I saw the doc stare at Mackenzie for a minute. then he actually smiled and bit his lip. Michaels face went scarlet red. "your welcome. " the doc replied. "now, nephews? " Junior, Terrence, and troy raised their hands. " " ok. umm.. sister in law?" Mackenzie raised her hand. "we already got the mother and father, did I miss anyone?" I raised my hand. the doc came over to me. "do you live with them?" he pointed to William and kate. "I live with all of them. yes. " I replied. the doc nodded. "I think I will use you first fort the transfusion. is that okay?" I looked at William. "anything that will make Alexie feel better. " William said. I nodded. "yes. anything that will help her. "
