"Hey! That's mine!" Sasha exclaimed when Kellan pulled her out of her reverie by stealing a forkful of her food.

"Did you want it back?" He pouted and paused in his chewing. As serious as Sasha wanted to be, she couldn't stop the laughter that was bubbling up inside her. There was something ridiculously endearing about this boy. Maybe Jane was right and she should take it and run with it, but she had lost far too many people to believe it was that simple. There would be complications, there always were. But there was something so easy about the tugging in the pit of her stomach telling her he was where she needed to be.

"Sash?" Jane scrunched her eyebrows as if trying to decipher what was running through her mind.

"Hm?"

"Kellan just asked you something."

"Oh, I'm sorry, what was it?" She looked expectantly at him.

"Did you have plans after this?"

"Probably hit the studio, that's about all I do on Sundays."

"Oh what an excellent idea! He should come to the studio with us!" Jane exclaimed clapping her hands excitedly.

"I'd love to." Kellan replied before Sasha could deter them.

They finished eating, Kellan continuing to take bites off Sasha's plate much to her protest, and Jane keeping her involved in their conversation. Sasha paid the bill and refused to tip Kellan insisting he had eaten his tip from her food. They then made their way outside Jane offering a ride to the studio but Sasha refused telling her she'd see her there and Kellan followed suit. They walked in silence for about half of the walk, just breathing in the chilly air. Sasha wasn't sure she'd ever get used to the purity of this place.

"She complements you perfectly." He commented.

"She does her best." Sasha conceded with a smile.

"What do you mean?"

"She's...attempting at filling someone else's shoes. Our relationship is different from what you think." Sasha sighed.

"Where's the person she's filling for?"

"What an excellent question that is, if only I had an answer. I have my hunches of course but I have no desire to go looking. We really are the same I suppose..." Sasha trailed off and walked in silence the remaider of the way. "Here we are."

"This is a dance studio."

"Indeed it is." She smiled at his incredulity and started up the steps.

"Hey," He grabbed her hand. "Where did you go back there? You looked about a million miles away."

"More about 8 years and 2 lifetimes ago." She shrugged him off and pulled the door open leaving him to decide whether to follow or not, he did. Jane was already changed and setting up the music.

"Go get changed, I'm going to get a song or two in before you take over." Jane teased, sitting Kellan at the back of the room across from the mirrors. Sasha could hear the Mendelssohn through the wall of the changing room. It was a beautiful piece with an amazing build up, Jane's favorite. Sasha pulled on her pink convertible tights, black tank leotard, and short black shorts before taking her shoes and walking out to sit on the floor next to Kellan and watch Jane's dance. As she slid her feet into her pointe she took note of some of Jane's new moves and praised her internally for her fluidity. Jane had a grace Sasha would never possess, but she would never feel the music the way Sasha did. As she finished tying her shoes, Jane grabbed the remote and switched to Sasha's CD. As the beginning notes to 'I will not bow' started Jane made her way over to take the seat Sasha had just vacated.

"You were wonderful." Kellan complimented softly as Sasha started warming up. As she broke into her routine they stared in silent awe. Sasha hit the music like it hit her, the bass pumping with her heart, her blood, through her veins. The song ended and she paused, looking at herself in the mirror for a moment. Something was so naked and real about her in that instant and as her eyes caught Kellan's she knew that he had seen it too. As the second song started Jane joined her in the middle of the floor. They worked out the routine with minimal conversation and restarted the song once to make sure it worked the way they intended. The third time Sasha let Jane run through it on her own sitting on a stool next to the stereo and indicating Kellan should join her.

"You're a beautiful dancer." Kellan said as he sat on the stool next to her. She bobbed her head in acknowledgement of the praise. "I mean it, I've never seen anyone move with that kind of power controlled so tightly."

Jane let the CD go on to the next song and as it started Sasha began to sing along with her eyes closed.

"Standing out in the rain, knowing that it's really over, please don't leave me alone. I'm flooded with all this pain, knowing that I'll never hold you, like I did before the storm." Sasha ended as a tear slid down her cheek. She felt Kellan's hand hold the side of her face as his thumb brushed the tear away and kiss where it had been.

The next song had begun to play but ended abruptly causing Sasha's eyes to flick open and she caught sight of Jane across the room with the remote staring at her with a mix of disgust and shock.

"You've never cried before." Jane's voice was flat and devoid of emotion.

"Of course she's cried before." Kellan turned to look at Jane as she made her way towards them.

"Correction, I've never seen you cry before. Such a little girl, I expected more of you Princess." Jane spat the word at her. "You have left yourself completely defenseless, I do hope you can protect your little pet there."

Sasha pulled her shoes off quickly and stood between Kellan and Jane.

"Here's the moment of truth Jane, do something or don't, but do not think you have any power here."

"Sasha--- "

"Shut up Kellan!" She commanded never taking her eyes off Jane. "It would do you well Jane to remember who it is you take your orders from."
