Sasha parked in front of the mall and closed her eyes, leaning her head down on the steering wheel.
"Everyone will address me first, and they will expect you to be very respectful. Don't speak unless spoken to. I need you to ignore the bad things, because I guarantee they will be there. Chloe will be there to help though. Chlo? Worse comes to worse, you get him out of there and you keep him safe okay? I need you do that for me."
"Anything Sash. I'm here for *you*."
"I know. But I need you to stay close to Kellan."
"You act like this is it for us." He commented quietly from behind her.
"I'll give you two a moment." Chloe said, hopping out of the car.
"Don't you get it? I will not let anything happen to you, not because of me."
"Don't you get it?" He replied quietly, sitting forward in his seat, and turning her head towards him. "I want you. Just you. Nothing more and nothing less."
He pressed his lips to her forehead and she squeezed her eyes tight, wishing away the world.
What was this boy doing to her? Making her believe in things she had no right and no room to believe in. Her story didn't have a happy ending and she couldn't bear stealing his. Not this boy who was solid and honest, with boyish charms and captivating smiles. She should've walked away in the beginning that was the best way to keep him safe, and she hadn't been strong enough to keep her distance, but this time she would be. She had to be because this was her last chance at letting him get out of this mostly unscathed.
