Hold me tight

It takes maybe two weeks until Seokjin finally feels ready to really approach Namjoon again. But it's not like last time. This time the days in between are not filled with silence, they are not ignoring or avoiding each other again, just giving each other some room to think about things. They texted almost every day, met up between classes, went to that coffee shop again, actually they saw each other almost every day, even if just for a few minutes. They also kissed a lot, held hands, hugged, just like lovers do. But it felt completely different from what they had done before. More affectionate. Less afraid that every kiss might be the last one. There is less fighting now, they are no longer struggling to remain the upper hand, the war is over.

At first, it was weird. Meeting up somewhere without it ending in them either fighting or making out or doing both at the same time was weird. Almost as if they didn't know how to even do that. In retrospect, it's maybe a little ridiculous that they thought meeting in a coffee shop without yelling at each other would be hard. It's the normal thing to just go there and drink a coffee. They have been doing it all wrong from the start and they are just now figuring out to really go about these things.

In the past two weeks or so Seokjin has learned a lot about Namjoon. One of the first things being that he is really considerate but also really damn clueless. After Namjoon left Seokjin behind, the first thing he did was check out that bag containing snacks and stuff. Well, actually it was probably the second thing, considering that Seokjin spent almost five full minutes just sitting on his bed, staring at the door and breathing in the smell of Namjoon's shirt. Anyway, back to that bag. The assortment of things inside was... interesting to say the least. Some of the normal stuff you'd get for a sick person, like vitamin supplements, a bag of citron tea, a pear and some honey, but also some really random snack things that looked like they had been picked out blind or in a panic, maybe both. And finally, what really made that small collection of random snack so funny, a handwritten note that was placed in the bag together with the groceries. A note that Seokjin now keeps in the top drawer of his bedside table because it's incredibly stupid but also probably the sweetest thing he has ever read.

Um, Hi

Oh God, the start is already incredibly awkward, this is terrible. I'm writing this in case we skip the part where we talk about things yet again. I hope you're doing okay. You didn't text back so I looked up home remedies for curing a cold. Are you even really sick? If not then this is probably really awkward. I apologise. I'm writing this while riding the tram to your place, feeling incredibly stupid about myself. Not sure why I'm telling you this. I kind of already forgot where I was going with this whole thing. But yeah, in case I mess up again I just want you to know that I really care about you and that I really do like you. Ugh, this is so awkward. I hope you even read this. Or maybe it's better if you don't.

After reading that note maybe ten times Seokjin texted Namjoon to tease him about how shy and awkward he sounds in this incredibly cheesy letter. When he's speaking Namjoon always sounds so confident in what he's saying, as if he has a whole speech prepared in his head all the time. Usually he's so eloquent, but apparently that ability of his becomes completely useless when he's trying to write a letter. Shouldn't it be the other way around? It seems that Namjoon is only good at finding the right words when he doesn't think about them too much, when he's speaking straight from his head. Or maybe his heart. Yet when he sits down to actually think about his words everything becomes awkward. It's weird, but also adorable. And of course Seokjin just had to tease Namjoon about it. But between all the text messages in which Seokjin picks at him for being awkward, the words thank you are written between the lines countless times. And this time Seokjin is sure that Namjoon caught each and every single one.
