Sadness warning for this chapter!

Leo's POV

He had one job. That was to release Bucky Barnes. Because of his age, they let him go with a warning. But warning were never heeded by one Leo Valdez. He was thinking about his task and his sister. He hadn't seen her for days and was starting to get worried. He didn't even know what side she was on anymore. She seemed to be with Cap in the conference but she had gone to the ratification of the accords which put her on Tony's side. Whatever side she was on, he missed her and would give up anything to know where she was. He reached the prison where Bucky was being held. He peeked inside to see a man standing in front of where Bucky was caged. There, beside him, was Xoe.

She was screaming at the man. Bucky was in the cage screaming as well. But in pain. Leo was about to go in when the screaming ceased. Xoe was panting and Bucky shot up from his restraints. He punched down the door and walked over to Xoe. She was sweating and tired from screaming and she may have put up a fight getting into those cuffs. The man looked at Bucky and then gestured to Xoe. She shook her head and shook in the chair she was given as restraint. She screamed his name but whatever that man had done to him, was solid.

He grabbed Xoe by the neck and lifted her up. She cried and screamed and pleaded for him to stop. But he didn't, or he couldn't. He tightened his grip around her neck and she began to suffocate. That was the line for Leo. He tried getting in but that man had made sure that it wasn't going to happen. He screamed Bucky's name but it didn't work. The man turned to see Leo trying to get in and laughed. Xoe's tan face went pale. Leo screamed for Bucky to stop. He could see the fear in Xoe's eyes and the fear even in Bucky's. Which made Leo know what was happening. He was mind controlling him to do this. And he couldn't stop. A tear fell from Bucky's eye as he squeezed her throat. He let go and she fell to the ground. He saw her lifeless eyes staring at him. The scientist stopped whatever control he had on him and ran out the other direction. Bucky fell to his knees as he saw what he had done.

Leo cried himself. Bucky wasn't a terrorist, nor was Xoe. They loved each other. If anything, Bucky was the victim. And Leo had chased after them. Xoe's death was his fault. He deserved to be in jail. He was a murderer. Bucky stood up with Xoe in his arms and looked at Leo. He then opened the door with his metal arm from the inside. "Take her, and promise me you'll find Sasha and take care of her." Leo looked at Xoe's cold eyes. "Promise me, Leo." He repeated. Leo nodded and Bucky handed her body to him. "I'm sorry." He said to Xoe more than Leo. He then took off. Leaving Leo in the middle of the prison with a lifeless body in his arms, tears streaming down his face.

Xoe was gone.
