"What happened?"  I asked  quietly,  Carter had been sitting there gushing over the fact that his girlfriend came back from what he thinks is the dead. I wanted to know what Illiana refused to tell me, I wanted to know the truth.

"What happened? ...to who?" Carter studied me from the side of my bed, he had taken a chair from the snoozing MaryAnn a while back. With the little visitors she had, I don't think she'd notice.

"To Illiana..." I finished, looking down at my fingers, I tried sitting up in the bed but failed miserably,  Carter rushed to help me. His hand in the small of my back he slid me up, readjusting the bed to a seat.

"Thanks. " I thanked him, he was so close to me. Carter looked into my eyes, his crystal blue ones sparkled with worry. Was it for me or Illiana.

"No problem. " he finished,  he was still close. I could breathe his breath, smell his fragrance,  kiss his lips. His lips looked inviting. I leaned forward.

"Well...if it isn't the man stealer." a sharp voice said from behind Carter. We broke apart, I sighed, I couldn't have that one kiss, really? I looked into the doorway,  Julie stood tall with a smirk on her face.

"Don't seem so upset." she teased, "What's up, Carter? Trying to suck face with my dearest friend?" she barked at him, he looked angry. She tried to take a step in but Carter blocked her.

"Baby, no no no no no, don't you remember what happened the last time you failed to protect your lover." she laughed darkly. Looking over his shoulder. "Oh! You haven't told her?" Julie smirked, tossing a manicured finger on his shoulder. She tried to slide between Carter and the doorframe but failed again.

"Julie, just leave."  Carter spat venomously,  I even shivered at his voice. I cringed when I thought of what they probably tried to do to Illiana.

She shoved him back, the glint of the moonlight shined off of the object in her hand.

"I warned you Carter," she sneered at me while talking to him, "I'm your one and only." she looked at me, spinning the blade between her fingers. My mouth almost fell open, what was she going to do? Trying to stall I spoke up.

"Why do it? Why take away what he loved?" I asked her.

"Because he's supposed to love me!" she spat, slicing the knife at the bed. I flinched, not feeling anything I looked up at her terrified. Carter knocked her over, she fell against the trash cans. Where the fuck where the nurses and doctors?

I cringed when she sat there smiling up at us.

"I did it because he cheated on me," she sobbed, "I meant nothing to him."

"So you help him kill her!" I said shaking my head. Carter whipped around to face me, looking horrified.

"Kill Illiana? I would never lay a finger on her, it was this bitch that framed me." He looked down at her.

"If I go down, we both go down." she giggled,  grunting, she tried to stand.

Carter paced the room, I looked at Julie for what felt like forever.

"What about all the other people you've killed, why them?" I said passively, I didn't want to alarm Julie. She would react in the way that I didn't want to encounter. I looked at Carter who stood in the corner of the room looking for an idea as to how he could help the situation but there was no use. We both just wanted answers, we didn't care how we got them. Julie was playing games, why was she even here.

"Tell me how it happened." I spoke out. Julie smiled devilishly,  finding the strength to stand she leaned her weight against the wall. She looked weak.

"I caught them," she said pointing to Carter, "him and Illiana... He had tried to break up with me days before anything happened...." she sobbed but I, in no way, felt sorry for her.

"We all left a family banquet my mom held and I saw them sneak off towards Carter's house. I walked in to his place to see them upstairs kissing. I grabbed her and we started fighting, I asked Carter why he cheated on me and he looked at me...you just looked at me." she cried to him, "to make the story short, she fell down the stairs." Julie looked at me, in fact she didn't look at me, she looked through me.

"Her neck snapped when she hit the wall." Carter finished.

"Then it was an accident. " I proclaimed quickly,  "Julie, you didn't kill her."

"I pushed her," she paled,  "I checked her pulse, Carter said he'd call the cops but she died in his house so it would look suspicious.  We dumped her in the car and drove off to the lake where I anchored her down with a sack full of heavy rocks and Carter's tie." she said plainly, she glanced at Carter but he was too busy staring out the window.

"That way, if her body is ever found, both of us go down." Julie stated.

"He gets punished for cheating, case closed." she murmured.

"Then what do you get?" I whispered back, catching her eyes.

"Nothing." she croaked, she had no clue that Illiana was still breathing above the surface and spoke, walked and lived like a normal person. That didn't excuse the other teens she murdered though. I wasn't about to bring th-

"Don't Move!" a cop yelled, aiming a gun at Julie and Carter. Carter's hands shot up in the air and Julie stared back at the officer. She looked bored. The curtain revealing my roommate shifted, her clear eyes searched mine.

"I placed the 911 call" MaryAnn hollered to the officer, his backup nodded and motioned for her to exit the room. She almost sprinted.

Julie glared at me, hatred full and deep within her soul. She lunged at me, her fist came above my forehead before a hard stunning blow once again knocked me on conscious.
